I currently am using a DFGT wheel and playing GT5, I am more and more finding that the dead spot is reminding me of my old Ford pickup, I mean it is so noticeable when I am trying to be accurate and precise with correcting adjustments to the car. Pushing the car to the limit like I was trying to do in the Academy qualifier I would take the thing to the edge and then maybe the car would give a little nudge in the wrong direction and the wheel would end up in the dead spot when all I was looking for was a little trim out to the change its direction back to keep it on track and I would find myself behind the curve and I would end up throwing the lap away.

I am to the point that I am not going to be satisfied until I can get a wheel for GT5 that can be tightened up or if I have to lay out the $600 for the T500 I will, but I would prefer not to. I have read some of the feeds about the T500 wheel but I haven’t heard what it is that I’m looking for. Does life w/ no or virtually no dead spot begin w/ the T500 or is there a lesser priced good quality wheel I can look at? Thankzzzz

The Fanatec wheels all have an adjustable dead zone... but I don't think what you're looking for really exists. All FFB wheels have that little spot in the middle before the FFB kicks in, it's part of how they work. I can't say if the Fanatec or Thrustmaster wheels are better or worse than the Logitechs tho.

I’m not looking for the impossible it’s just that now that I have experienced the rath of the DFGT it really puts a bad taste in my mouth. Doesn’t the T500 have a zero lash dead spot? If there was a way to tighten up my DFGT I would hang in there with it because I love the wheel but the dead spot is just not accurate enough for what I have to have.

The fanatecs have no deadzone whatsoever. Atleast my pwts has none. I believe the t500 has no deadzone either. That said the ffb engine in GT5 is so terrible that you actually need to adjust some deadzone into the fanatecs (10 degrees) to stop the crazy oscillation on straights.

Logitech made awesome wheels once upon a time. But they are starting to get left behind by some of the newcomers.

Hate to agree, but agree. As much as I like the G27, and believe that it is a value for as complete a package as it is and almost bulletproof reliability, it really should have the on board programming that the Fanatecs do. Pretty sure that this summer mine will be sold and replaced by a GT2, but I'm giving Fanatec a good long time to work out the bugs and build up a supply... not to mention get the Clubsport Shifter finished and out there!

Yep the Fanatecs are zero deadzone wheels. And you can adjust the deadzone on the fly from the wheel if ever needed like in some of the F1/X1/high performance cars in GT5.
