It is.
I can't recall where, but it is. Somewhere in south or central Alberta.
If you're going to be in Calgary, you might as well go to:
-Drumheller - South of Calgary. The fossil site that SRV mentioned. Badlands landscape makes for neat hiking, and there is the museum there as well.
-West Edmonton Mall - Edmonton - (Formerly) The biggest mall in the world. Includes a hotel, waterpark, indoor theme park including go-karts and a rollercoaster. Mini-golf as well.
-Fort Edmonton Park - Edmonton - The original Edmonton settlement from the 1800's - Still preserved and operated as a historical site. Staff play the part, too.
-Reynolds Alberta Museum - Wetaskiwin (My hometown) - Museum displaying antique cars (primarily) and farm equipment from the turn of the century to the 1940's and 50's. Special exhibits vary, not sure what's on now. Adjacent to RAM is an aviation museum showcasing antique and semi-modern aircraft, both civilian and military, most of which are still airworthy. During the summer months, you can also go for a ride in two restored vintage biplanes. It's about 20 minutes off Highway 2, which is the main connector between Edmonton and Calgary, and is about 35 minutes south of Edmonton. Would highly reccomend it if you're going to be anywhere near Edmonton. There is also a small paved oval track (called Edmonton Raceway) that holds races on the weekends a few minutes from the museum. Additionally, there is Castrol Raceway outside of Edmonton - 1/4 mile dragstrip, clay oval track, motocross track, and more.
That's the big ones off the top of my head, but there's lots more I'm probably not remembering. After all, I moved away from Alberta almost seven years ago.
