I don't know about anyone else, but I can't wait for Dec. 18th to get here. LOTR:The Two Towers comes out on that day. I've read the books, and am in the process of reading Return of the King. I can't wait to see how Peter Jackson has translated the text of Tolkien's Two Towers into audio and visuals. I hope it will be awesome, because the Fellowship of the Rings was incredible. What do you think?
 
I've not seen the first yet. Might someday.
 
All my friends and I got off from college on the 17th, so we are going to try to see it on the 18th, if it isnt already sold out.
 
I probably won't see it; didn't see the first one. At least they didn't edit the title of the movie. I hope someone doesn't get offended.

So they shouldn't. Tolkien gave it that name like, 50+ (I did know when he wrote them, but I've forgotten) years before hand?

Same here. I only like watching films when the theater is pretty empty.

Agreed, although we saw EpII at the Gold Class seats at Fox Studios and, even though the cinema was packed, because we were separated from the plebs we couldn't hear them.

I saw LOTRs in Melbourne in a cinema near about half a dozen 8 to 10 year old boys, and two couples intent on talking and eating as much food from crinkly plastic containers.

I was so traumatised, the following week I spent about $2k on home theatre sound equipment.

I to am having a hard time waiting for Twin Towers, but I think the rest of my town missed the whole draw of the series..., oh well, more theatre seating for me.

Actually, that evening also galvanised my partner's support for my plans, so it worked out quite well.
 
I hate people who talk through movies, or kids that kick your seat or that toddlers that babble on. Do you people know how to ba a parent?!?!?! :mad:

I totally agree - people who talk or make noise through a movie should be tasered.
 
You come to see a movie so why talk? Its alright if its a little quick comment or something but an entire conversation is just overboard. And if you can afford to buy movie tickets, surely you can afford a babysitter or something. If I ever want to see a movie with my son or daughter in the future I'll make sure they want to go before taking them.

Yeah I hate Keeno_UK too :D last time me and my other friend had to keep hitting him because he wouldnt shut up or stop laughing all the time. Dont go to the cinema with him.
 
I just saw the first one this Thanksgiving on DVD (the extended version); what a great movie. It was worth all the hype, the nicer seating of home theater, and lack of cellphones.

I'm glad the 2nd one is coming this December, it meant the DVD could be released earlier. I'll probably wait until late December, when there isn't as much audience.

When I saw Episode II in May, our local theaters (only two for a city of 150,000) were playing it from 9:30am to midnight showings in three theaters. Kathy and I caught it at 10am with about 12 people in the whole theater. It was great...no extra noise!
 
I'm so proud of the fact that the majority of the filming was done here. And that the producer (??) was from NZ. :D
 
My girl bought us two tickets for the opening night.
She is a big fan of LOTR, i don't understand what all the fuss is about.

But if my girlfriend is happy, i am happy:)

I'm really looking forward to it. But I, too, hate crowded theatres so I'll wait a bit. It'll be just as good a week or two later.

:lol: I installed a bunch of home cinema kit which I already owned into my (now) wife's flat, and she wasn't pleased. Then we went round to someone else's house and watched a movie there, and in the taxi on the way home she said "Wow, there's something really wrong with Chris's TV". I said "No, it's just that he doesn't have surround sound."

She'd become so used to it that she needed to be reminded what the dark days were like. Now there's no issue with spending money on A/V equipment. She's driving us saving for plasma...

On-topic though, I'm slated to see Two Towers on 30th Dec.
 
I'll be there opening night. The first one was great, the second one is gonna rule. :D :D

Director - Peter Jackson. Brilliant director (although starting to look disturbingly like a LOTR character), although 'Bad Taste' and 'Meet the Feebles' are rather, ahem, disturbing...
 
On the special features disc of the LOTR DVD, there is a feature where hes driving around Wellington and when he gets out of the car, he's limping on the gravel and when you see him step inside, hes in bear (that the right word??) feet. :lol: Typical kiwi.

Well I don't get to see LOTR:TT tommorrow but I will hopefully see it friday with a few friends.. I have finals all this week, otherwise I probably would see it Wednesday.. It sucks. I don't want to wait a few days to see the one movie I have been looking forward to since seeing LOTR (besides Episode 2).

And I'm proud of the fact that one of the biggest films ever was not made in the USA, that it was made in our little country.
