Losing power/performance online, mid race

This has happened to me a few times now although last night was the worse. Racing my NSX RM around the ring I had a few minor offs mid lap nothing bad and nothing showing on the damage indicator at all, in fact I don't even think damage was on in the room, all of a sudden the car wouldn't pull itself past 4th gear and around 135mph.
 
This began happening to me in my Nascar over the last couple days too. I'd be running fine then all of a sudden lose power (rpm would go flat) and actually begin to slowly decelerate down the straights and not be able to carry a draft off anyone. At first it would just be momentary then come back, but last night it began to get worse and worse until my last race when it happened, it never came back to full power. I thought it was oil change being required, but that didn't solve anytrhing either. The car only has a total of 1500 miles on it.

If anyone knows what is going on here, I'd like to know too.
 
Catch up doesn't slower the cars down do they?
Only gives the slowest car more power and grip right?

Make sure you enter a room that doesn't use such baby settings.

Who needs Boost on Cape Ring anyway?
 
Sounds silly but take a look at the red bar for braking and white one for accel. See if your brake was pressed slightly. Has happened to me before now when using my wheel and throwing my DS3 on to the bed; the L2 was pressed a little. Worked it out pretty enough straight away mind.

May not be this, but worth a look.

will keep an eye out for this, but it was more like I'd damaged the engine or something without any damage indicator showing
 
last I heard the penalty system drops power for infractions and I've experienced it first hand...wonder if those "minor" offs triggered a penalty :D

Haha! Surely not?!?! There's a big timer in the middle of the screen ! lol
 
I was running NASCAR at Daytona, I take my foot away from the brake pedal all together.. and there was no penalty possible, nor a in-game boost issue.. this was purely random loss of power.. others in the room watched it happen and were jus as confused as I was.. this is totally an issue in the game since the new version install.
 
yep however my power losses where immediately after getting back on track from an off and there was NO timer...this has happened several times to me...no damage indicated either since the offs were minor into grass

An on screen timer would've given a big clue to a penalty.
