lost all my cars and money

hey guys....hadn't fired up the ps3 in a few months, so i was a few updates behind. finally installed all the latest updates, and i have lost all my cars, money and experience levels of both A and B. basically it is treating me like i just installed the game.....but i had many cars and my experience levels were good, and had 20million$

any way to retreive that??

Only if you backed up the save file. I had the same problem. It took about a month to get most everything back. Also I kept my trophies
 
if it wasn't backed up automatically to the hard drive, i doubt i have that.....
 
I upgraded from 1.0 to 2.0 as i hated the updates changing the nascar event to make it wheel only, and i didn't lose any data.
 
This normally wouldnt happen if all you did was not turn on the PS3..
 
The last time you played GT5, did you accidently shut off your PS3 while it was saving?
 
so if i've already updated everything, can i revert to what i had before? or is all that data gone and overwritten?
 
@slashfan......no...well not really. but i wwas running my spec B in the backround on 24 hour races, to earn $ and experience point...and happened once or twice that i had power outages at my hous.....so i guess that would count as an abrupt closing of the system.....but it would always pull back up ok....
 
There really should be made a sticky thread warning to back up your game on top of each GTP forum. Light flashing and all.
 
Makes me happy I invest in PS Plus.... I'm a tool, I never remember to manually back up. So PS+ does it for me online, never know when you might need it.
