Hey guys! You may have read "Legend Of Hakone", right? Well, here's a sequel. It no longer takes place in Hakone. The characters are still the same. And as usual, the main protagonist is Shiro Watanabe. Enjoy reading!

CHAPTER 1-Overhaul

As I stood there, admiring my R32, I remembered my last race which took place about two years ago. I thought my R32 would never see another day. It was beat up real bad. It took a lot of time and effort into bringing it back to its current state. It’s also been a long time since I’ve last driven it. Hell, I don’t even drive it anymore.

My life has changed ever since then. You know what’s the best part?

I now work as one of NISMO’s head parts developers. Yeah, that’s right! I don’t know how it happened. Everything just moves too way too fast.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Present day, Tokyo, Japan

I’m on a train going to the NISMO Headquarters. As usual, it’s pretty much packed in here. Thankfully, the headquarters isn’t too far. My life may sound interesting, but once you do it for too long, you get used to it too easily. I looked outside my window in an attempt to admire the scenery. Everything looked black and white. Oh well, at least I tried. Suddenly, something catches my attention.

Zooming down the expressway, a NISMO R-Tune R34, along with an R33.

I only had about one second to admire these cars. The next thing I knew, they have already disappeared from my field of vision. Watching those two cars... I could feel a sudden burst of joy inside of me...

Finally, I arrive at my stop and walk towards the building. As I walked in, in front of me was a display of all the cars NISMO has worked on. A lot of notable cars were there as well, such as the R34 Z-Tune, the 400R, even the Super GT cars were on display. Anyone who is a fan of Japanese motorsport history would pass out if they ever set foot in this building.

A few hours pass and my shift is finally over. I walk around to take a look at some of the cars.

*sigh* “Wouldn’t it be nice to own one of these cars?”

Suddenly, I heard an echoing voice behind me. It was coming from my boss, Shoichi Miyatani.

Shoichi: “I see you’re still admiring these cars...”

“Yeah, they’re so much better than my R32.”

Shoichi: “R32, huh?... Well then, since I have noticed your productivity has improved a tenfold, I’ll give your R32 an overhaul, for free.”

“I..I appreaciate your generosity, but you don’t need to-”

Shoichi: “I insist...”

“Really?”

Shoichi shows a smile and nods his head.

Shoichi: “Bring your car over here tomorrow and we’ll see what can be done.”

“Thank you, Shoichi-san.“

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day, I’m on the expressway on the way to work. I finally remembered the joys of driving my R32. From all these years, it still performs like a dream.

I soon arrived in front of the building. Shoichi-san was there in front, waiting for me.

“Sorry I’m late.”

Shoichi: “You’re just in time, actually. Jut give me some time to inspect the car and I’ll inform you later.”

“Okay, thanks again.”

Shoichi: “No problem.”

I proceeded to walk back inside to do my usual routine. Minutes later, Shoichi calls me.

“So, how’s the car?”

Shoichi: “Well, I can’t reveal anything just yet. In the meantime, here.”

Shoichi-san hands me a set of keys with a 400R logo engraved on it.

“Huh? This is too much. Are you sure about this?”

Shoichi: “Of course. Also, that version is my very own. It’s different compared to all the other 400R’s out there.”

“So, what’s the difference between them?”

Shoichi: “Well, for starters. The power has been increased from 400 horsepower to 600 horsepower, the suspension has been tweaked furthermore, the transmission settings are focused on mountain pass racing, and lastly, the cornering is much more precise. We could have done these things to the regular ones, but we were limited on funds. So we were only able to create 1 out of 44.”

“Oh my god, that’s a lot of improvements. I’ve heard that the regular 400R can beat most sports cars these days. This one sounds too good to be true.”

Shoichi: “It sure is... Now, run along now.”

I walked down the parking area to find Shoichi’s 400R. I found it sitting in a corner with its shining red paint reflecting the orange postlights.

“Whoa.”

It looked really menacing. The tuning that had been done to it, just listening to what had been done gives me chills. It’s just... Amazing!

CHAPTER 2-400R

“As expected from Shoichi-san, this car is epic!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909878042/

“First corner... Let’s see how this goes. Downshift, brake, and turn in! Whoa! The steering is so light!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909878504/

“Haha!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909878936/

“What the hell?! Third corner already?! This car is definitely fast!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909879518/

“The turbo responds quite well. Although, at low revs, it could use some work. Oh well, it’s natural for turbos to take time to spool.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909880336/

“Dammit! I need to stop wasting my tires!"

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909880714/

“Shoichi-san wasn’t kidding when he said this thing was different...”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909881074/

“It’s already scaring the crap out of me! It easily hugs the inside of this high speed bend.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909881474/

“The acceleration is very quick! My entry and exit speeds are higher than usual.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909881850/

"The echoing sound of the RBX-GT2 engine... Gives me goosebumps..."

I checked my stopwatch to see what time the car had made... It came to my surprise that it had made a lap of 1:05. A full 2 seconds faster than my own GT-R...

“What’s my R32 missing?... What do I need to surpass this car?...”

Meanwhile, at the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, an R34 R-Tune zooms past the Aqualine Bridge at breathtaking speeds of over 300 km/h.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909883198/

“Before you face my older brother... You must face me first!...”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7909883514/

“For my name is... Kazuhiko Watanabe...”

CHAPTER 3-R32 Reinvented

*sigh* It was nice have the 400R for quite some time. Sadly, all things don’t last too long, although, I’m very excited to get my R32 back.

Shoichi: “Watanabe-kun! Over here!”

I quickly ran to him and handed him the keys to his 400R.

Shoichi: “So, how was the car?”

“Epic. There’s nothing else like it.”

Shoichi: “Well, there soon will be...”

We walked behind the building and found the R32. Nothing looks to be different compared to before. I wonder...

“It still looks the same?”

Shoichi: “Yes, but take a look inside.”

“Whoa. Everything’s stripped. A new roll cage, carbon fiber dash, new seats... Just how many parts have been replaced?”

Shoichi: “Everything... Say, there’s this organized race near the C1 area. You might want to try it out there.”

“C1, huh? Alright!”

Later...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953894482/

“Man, this place looks amazing at night. I can’t believe I’ve never noticed.”

Shoichi: “It sure does... We can go sightseeing later, though. You’re going to have to focus on this race.”

“You’re right. Just look at the competition.”

Shoichi: “Alright... You ready?”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953894696/

“NOW!”

“Whoa! It’s never had this kind of acceleration!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953894864/

Shoichi: “Careful! You’re too close to the wall.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953895012/

“Don’t worry. I’ll just have to pass this RUF.”

“Hmm... that Z’s going too wide.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953895186/

“That was an easy pass...”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953895376/

"I'm really enjoying this. The roads are wide and smooth. I can floor it all I want..."

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953895594/

Huh? An R34?...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953895794/

Wait a minute... I recognize it...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953895990/

The one I saw just a few weeks ago... but...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953896186/

Why do I have this feeling?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953896342/

...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953896528/

**** he’s pulled away.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953896706/

“Just a few more set of turns.”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953896910/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953897114/

“Final straight! GO!”

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953897324/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7758389726/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/matmedrano/7953897482/

What is it about that R34? Do I know its driver? Am I somehow connected to it? I can’t stop thinking about it...

Meanwhile...

Kazuhiko: "Ryuu... Aniki, I'm back!"

Ryuu: "Oh, so... How'd it go?"

Kazuhiko: "I lost..."

Ryuu: "I warned you... He's a very skilled driver."

Kazuhiko: "What if you race him? With your R33?"

Ryuu: "... Fine. Give me a month to prepare..."
