I used to watch the series called 'LOST'

but after about the 6th episode i stopped watching because i felt it was drip feed TV and that the hour log session it took to reveal another incey wincey bit of info was too much to take and after a while it became quite annoying so I decided to stop watching.

I'm starting to feel the same now about GT5P its just so drip-feed that I'm getting bored of getting excited and then being let down as the updates don't fulfill most peoples expectations.

And now we hear the game won't be out until 2010 - whats all that about? Anybody can claim to have the best driving game if it's 'still in progress'.

And whats with the famous quote offered by Mr Polophony "I don't play other racing games"??

If you don't know what your compeition is doing then you will die as a business - how you supposed to stay one step ahead?

And for people who say well if it takes them till 2010 to make it perfect them thats fine by me - thats such a lame answer.

Sorry for the rant but I think that PD should give it's loyal followers some good info about when the next updates are going to be and what we should expect to be in them - then we could have some good discussions on here about the content of the forthcoming updates and also perhaps give polophony some good positive feedback back to help them do a better job.

Not impatient as such... just frustrated, like many of us. It's easier to wait for something when you know approximately when it's coming. Trouble is, we don't know what is coming or even when to expect it. One thing we can be fairly sure of is private rooms but it has been 7 months in waiting so far without any news about it at all. We can only continue to speculate and hope!

When you've been following the Gran turismo series from the beginning, you can easily identify their information and release patterns. It's not their style to give solid dates for stuff, they neither want to disappoint fans by missing deadlines or disappoint them by releasing a rushed or unfinished product. The way i like to look at GT5 is that PD are kindly allowing fans of the game to be a part of a mass beta testing experiment where they can constantly tweak the game and gather loads of feedback to what people think of the changes. In exchange we get to play, in part, a game that we wouldn't normally expect to see at all for a good 18 months or so.

If you look at all the new updates they bring out as added bonuses rather than a god-given right, then you'll have a much better prospective about it all.

Just keep your perspective. It's a game, and our lives are not materially affected by it. If it takes another year for the full game to come out then so what. I'm overall very happy with Prologue and if I get bored with it I'll put it aside and play something else for awhile.

I do hope that the full game is worthy of the time it's taking. But I'll just hope for the best, and plan for the worst. Remember, expectations are just pre-planned resentment.

The problem with PD is no offence to them but there don't seem to think other racing games exist. If I was making gt5, i'd look at other racing games and not copy there ideas but use them to help me make a better game.

I also totaly agree with this. craste, am not saying you have no life but remember there is loads of things to do and games so play in the meantime. Saints Row 2 is coming out soon for example.

I'm pretty sure that PD development team do play other driving/racing games. They would be stupid not to.

I think this quote from a recent interview with Kaz has confused some people here:

Q: Besides GT, are there any other games that you play?
A: No, not really.

Q: Not even other driving games?
A: No. It's more fun to drive real cars.

They've interpreted that as him not caring about what the competitors are doing. I see it that he's a very busy man who throws his all into his work and would rather spend what little free time he has driving real cars than spending it infront of a computer screen playing more driving games. He can better help make his creation as realistic a simulation as possible by driving real cars then he would driving other peoples games.

You are right, we loyal fans and deserve to be part of GT5 cration. I know some dudes are here from PD in our forums, but we don't know who.. I think they should state and present themselves and gives us info every other week on what cars they finished for GT5 and etc.. Because I know They created more then 74 cars. Like the Miata, or the Nissan race car, or Toyota Rally car. they should post more pictures, Talk about how they create each track, if they laser scan or not.. Anticipation is good, but info is even better to crave us.

Screw it. LBP is coming out in 2 weeks, I will create my own GT5 game there!!!

GT5 isnt the only title available to play on the PS3, and their still have some other thing you can do beside playing game

While I would love to know more about GT5's release and would like to know that certain game elements are being addressed by PD's staff, it's not the end of the world that the full release may not occur until '11. There's a big bright ball in the sky I noticed as I left my apartment after lunch. I'll probably spend some time enjoying it rather than worrying too much over PD's progress. Having said that, I do really look forward to the full release. But, life goes on in the mean time. Don't miss out.

Just in case you didn't know. Polyphony Digital is a video game developing company, and Kazunori Yamauchi is the creator and producer of the Gran Turismo series.

I'm sure I speak for most GT fans when I say the final relase will be well worth the wait. I think they intend this to aim for that impossible task of being the perfect racing game, and you cannot rush perfection no matter how impatient your fan base is.

Trust me, if they rushed release, that first meal after removing the drip would not taste as good as you imagine.

While I mostly disagree with you, I can say that you are not alone in this.

In fact, there are many threads on this topic that you could have put this in.

Ewww, GT5 on the MS wheel - the HORROR!

But then again, if PD were to do a 360 version of GT that would probably have involve lifting the ban on 3rd party FF wheels.. I don't think GT is going anywhere without Logitech. This in turn might also benefit other games such as Forza, which might be a good thing.

I don't really see it happening, but then again I said that about Final Fantasy as well...
