Lots of GT4 footage in music video!

Many of the buses in Hong Kong have three or four LCD TVs in them, displaying music videos, adverts, cartoons and the like.

Yesterday, as I was going home, there was a Kelly Chen (HK singer/actress) video with loads of footage of the Hong Kong circuit from the upcoming GT4. Most of the footage was from the 'prize' video in GT4P, but I'm sure that some of it I hadn't seen before. The cars that were racing were all GT/LM cars; R390, GT-One etc.

Anybody else seen this? What's the deal there then? Is it a marketing ploy by PD, or has Kelly just nicked some footage of something that's hot with the youth at the moment to promote her career?
 
Ah ha! I appear to have found the answer to my own question.

After a round of internet voting, Kelly defeated the other nominees to become the ambassador for this year's Asia Game Show and she would also film a music video for PS2's GT4. The production costs solely for the video production amounted to more than ten million. In the music video, Kelly acts as a car racer riding on a red racing car dashing across the streets. However, as Kelly does not have a driving licence, the director had to find a big trailer to pull the racing car during the shoot. This scene had taken several hours to complete because the car had to be cruise along the busy streets of Tsim Sha Tsui and the area had attracted many curious onlookers.

Kelly will be the promotion ambassador for PS2's upcoming car-racing game. As this game is on car-racing, Kelly had to appear in the image of a car racer.

Although Kelly does not have a driving licence, she was able to imitate the moves of a real car racer well. She mentioned that she likes playing car-racing games in her free time. The most difficult part in filming the ad was that she needed to wear a 5 inch high heels. She had difficulty moving around wearing the heels and needed her assistants to help her back to her seat to rest after each take.

Why did PS2 choose Kelly? The company had set up an online voting earlier and Kelly emerged as the winner to be the new ambassador. As Kelly also loves playing computer games, she immediately agreed.


Yet again, the HK music industry ceases to amaze me :rolleyes:

She's OK is our Kelly. She's obviously lacking in the beauty department and the less said about her taste in clothes and dancing ability the better, but she seems a pleasant person, her songs are catchy and she does a lot of work for those that are less fortunate than herself. And you can't argue with that.

Now if you really want to have a go at someone then here's the one you're looking for...

I've just completely given up on modern music, since 99.99% of it sucks complete ass.
 
Thats why I stay away from the mian stream :). All the best music isn't shown on MTV once a day and 12 times on MTV2.

Anyway, here in Milwaukee,wi , Our busses have 2-3 LCD screens showning live feeds. I know this because last year I had to take one while my Eclipse was getting a brake job.

You've got a point! Oh my, some of the crap that they churned out in the eighties, yet me and my friends thought it was fantastic! Although I still think it was better than some of the dross now :(

Perhaps, I'm not that old though but I definitely think music was better years ago.
 
wow, i hope i get to play gt4 with some brilliant teenie bopping pop blasting away. I think some n sysnc would really bring the tension in GT4 races to new levels.


Music was better in some ways a few years ago, but there are some good bands now 2. Just depends what you like I guess.

Thats probably true since in the UK atleast music seems to be aimed at 13 year old school girls :rolleyes:

She's actually not bad; considering her age... and like that picture, wasn't a good shot.
