Tested at Suzuka Circuit, totally stock except for Sport Hard tires.

The Lotus was the fastest production sedan in the world in 1989, and we Americans know the Chrysler 300 as a common boat anchor. So how do they compare? I think you'll be surprised...

2:27.484 - 2005 Chrysler 300C - 5.7L, 339 hp @ 5100 rpm, 390 ft-lbs @ 4000 rpm, 1878 kg, 456 pp.
2:27.517 - 1990 Lotus Carlton - 3.6L, 375 hp @ 5000 rpm, 411 ft-lbs @ 4000 rpm, 1655 kg, 472 pp.

Can you do better? Give it your best!

Would make for a decent race then. Carltons vs 300C Suzuka 20 laps :)

I own the Carlton but haven't played with it much, I know it's fast in a straight line though. Someone round my way used to have one, was one of my favourite cars because of the Vauxhall Carlton body :) you must get some right laughs when some kid pulls up and wants a race in his Civic Type R :)

The 2008 CTR isn't much slower than the Carlton at 2:28.402 and the 2001 CTR is 3 tenths behind that.

The Spoon CTR would destroy the Carlton (time of 2:23.886) but definitely not in a drag race!

If someone sets that race up between Carlton/300C, I'm in :) Say 500 pp max?

Lotus Carlton is much quicker than this at stock settings. Just set a 2:25.343 using only stock setup with sports hard tyres.

Make that 2:24.625

Is that with a DS3 or a wheel? I'm calling shenanigans if it's not with a wheel, and even then...I don't see 3 seconds to gain as I'm watching my replay, but I'll give it another go in a while.

The Carlton is slippery/twitchy like all Lotuses...Loti? Despite being FR and not MR.

Using DS3. Can post a replay if you wish

The 300C may weigh more, but it has the advantage of 15 more years of technological advancements. Also you have to take into account the dimensions, engine displacement, weight distribution, and gearing of the car.

Yes please post a replay if possible. It may help me improve. Try the 300C if you get a chance.

The 300C I managed a 2:24.825. So very evenly matched but you can definitely feel the added weight with the 300C in the distribution through the bends.

Real life would the 300c have better suspension and brake technology, even if the Carlton has it's tunned by lotus ?,and has that been carried through to gt6.

I noticed the 300C brakes are alot stronger than the Carlton but the transmission is slower.
It's a nice combination with both these cars racing but I'd put my £££ on the Lotus Carlton. Even in my replay I uploaded here I made a mistake at the sharp left hairpin, so I could go even quicker. Great thread though, was good fun!

What we really need is the poverty pack Carlton in game to really compare the work by lotus,it would not be to hard I reckon, car is already modelled.Dodge Charger to 300C would be a good match, sounds like a plan.
