With both straight out of the dealership, I purchased Sport Hard tires and did a head-to-head. All aids off except ABS-1 and Grip Reduction Low.

2:34.056 - 1972 Lotus Europa Special - 1.6L, 126 hp @ 6500 rpm, 113 ft-lbs @ 5500 rpm, 730 kg, 404 pp.
2:42.581 - 1968 Lotus Europa S.2 - 1.5L, 79 hp @ 6500 rpm, 80 ft-lbs @ 4000 rpm, 624 kg, 375 pp.

I dare you to try and beat me, especially with the slower '68.

I am horribly sorry, I was looking at the tab for the title and it's cut off so... I'm going to give this a try. I'm up for a challenge.

I will try it tomorrow ,I haven't bought the Europa yet but I loved it in gt5.

Looking forward to your results, guys! Both cars feel great to drive and sound excellent.

I also tested the 2011 Lotus Elise 1.6L and it's actually only 2.5 seconds faster than the 1.6L 40 year old Europa!

So I got around to getting about 4 laps down for each car and this is what I managed.

2:37.495 Europa Special
2:47.860 Europa S.2

Now I could catch your Europa Special's time, maybe, just need to get a few corners right. But I can't for some reason grasp why I'm 5 seconds slower in the S.2. Definitely looking into that. Are your cars completely stock? I see you posted figures but did you do suspension and LSD for example?

By the way I did these laps on the controller, but I have a wheel and I will certainly pull that out when I have the time.

Both cars are totally stock except for the addition of Sport Hard tires. I'll record a phone video of the replay tomorrow when I get a chance.

The link won't show the picture for some reason, so just click this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ag0cgv43cbo14iq/IMAG2870.jpg

If there's one thing that annoys me about GT, it's that the specs are not shown on that screen, so it takes a bit of faith for people to believe that the cars are stock, but I assure you I do not lie. I don't have time for it! I've done 320+ cars so far in the same manner, all stock except for SH tires where they don't come stock.

These cars are better with Comfort hard tires.:mischievous:

Better meaning more fun going sideways around corners maybe lol

One lap before work in the Europa S2 - 2.44.669
not far off.

Not bad! Still got 2 whole seconds on you though, keep at it :)

Can't get any better with the Europa S2, got 2.34.744 with the special though.

Nearly...
