I wouldn't. Toyota reliability > Mitsubishi reliability.... :indiff:

And Honda engine reliability and flexibility > Toyota... that's why a bunch of Asian Elise owners have got B-engines under the hood.

Hmmm... 4G63T? Actually, you can make a 4G63T mate with a FWD 4G63 transmission... heck, they're still making 4G63 powered FWD Lancers, then plant it in the back... that's how they got both the Toyota and Honda engine to fit in the rear. But I'm betting the iron-block 4G63T will be a fair bit heavier than either... would be very very nice, though.

Now, who knows someone who'd be willing to do it? I'll take my consultation check now, please. ...or better yet, I want to drive that bugger. :dopey:

The black on black does a good job of hiding the bug-face on the front. This car is definitely has its good angles (back, sides), and its bad angle (front).

If I were going to get one of these, I'd definitely get black.

...I'll take an Exige, repaint her Bermuda Blue on black powdercoat wheels, and drop in the VW 2.0T FSI, or possibly the upcomming GM 2.0L DI...

No disagreement here.

Iron-block? I had no idea. That explains a good bit of the solidity Poverty was talking about.

Yup... the 4G is a veeeeeery old engine. I think one of the few compact engines still on the market that matches (almost, maybe) it in age is the SR20 (if they're still using it in Sentras there... they still use it in vans, here), but the SR20 is an all aluminum engine that can hold almost as much power.

It's that solidity that's killing these engines. It's getting harder and harder for car companies to get power out these engines while still meeting emissions (obviously not with the turbo version...). NA 4G63s only put out about 130-135hp nowadays, down from 150hp when they first came out.

Mandarin Orange please.

Chrome Orange,

And the Evo car was Krypton Green.

Both the 'Lifestyle Paint' options. Pricey stuff, but man do they stand out.

The yellow is either Saffron on 2005 cars or Sunburst I think on 2006 models. The latter being more metallic.

During a recent factory tour at Hethel, a boardmember on EliseTalk spotted what was apparently the first feralised Exige S. No clue if it is destined for testing, regulations or all out sale. A lot of rumors still at this point, but I'll keep the fresh news posted here.

I haven't even seen a friggin' Elise yet in Canada though! There are about 12 or 15 delivered in Montreal (although there are 75 in the Detroit area already) and I have yet to see one. Grand Prix season will bring every car out though.

I've now seen 2 Elise's here locally--one red and one yellow. I must say I rather like the yellow one--but British Racing Green still is the best color to get them in. :sly:

I thought all Elises and Exiges were now produced to US federal regulations?

The supercharged powerplant hasn't yet been legalised in the US of A.

The top speed is around 150mph I believe. Those figures are always hard to get and prove accurately. The Exige's Vmax margnally less than the Elise because of the downforce increase.

When Lotus released the 240R they said it was their fastest ever production car. Their official press release states 155mph as the top speed.

Doesnt the esprit do like 180mph?

Maybe fastest refers to 0-60's or whatnot.
