So one guy bought this beauty to Finland after 1 year of searching. He paid about 35 000€ for the car. A company called Finssteve brought it to Finland, and when came the time to move it out of the ship things started to go bad. They said to the worker that moved the car that you should take easy with this car, and what happened. He floored it straight away and took everything out what Lotus Omega can give, a uncontrollable spin and straight to the concrete pillar. I really hope that he seriously injured at least :banghead:

Dude, clam down. Haha.

Why the heck would you want him to be injuryed? Make no sense at all. I know you might be upset but wishing someone was injury is just wrong.

Think like it happened to you. You have searched your car of your dreams for a year and already bought and paid for it. Then some dumbass does a little "test-drive" to it and the rest is history. They have even said that he was drunk when he drove it. And yes, I am very pissed of because the driver and the car.

I think I'd be more than slightly annoyed. Looks like he did a decent job of wrecking the suspension too, that rear toe in and camber isn't right!

 Thanks for pointing that out! I didn't realize how out the rear wheels were, I was paying attention to the front of the car!

First off, they will pay him some sort of amount of money. He could maybe find another one and have it shipped by a different company. Anyways I would also be pissed but hoping that someone is injuryed is just wrong. At least I think so. You know hes going to be fired.

I would be pissed also but hoping someone gets hurt is not right. Sue him or something. A Lotus Omega is nice but its no Ferrari Enzo. You can always find another one and have it shipped. 1 year of searching for a Lotus Omega? It's not that rare. There are 1100 made I think. It's a great car.

Actually there are 950 Lotus/Carlton Omegas. And yes it's not a Ferrari Enzo, they don't make those things anymore. Even there are 950 Lotus Omegas out there, many of them owners are not into selling them to anyone, so it is very hard to find a Lotus Omega that are in good condition too. That one was almost perfect. And the guy who wrecked it was sure konwing what he was doing, and still he did it. So I still hope that he even broke his leg, he will get it back to normal :)

I think that the rear axle/the rear wheels are in weird position because the front impact has been so powerful that the engine has gone backwards with the cardan and pushed the rear axle to wrong position. Other possibility is that he drove over that brick step and maybe braked a little bit and that way wrecked the rear axle.

All I'm seeing is banwidth exeeded, is there a link to the pics?

GM originally said 1,100 Lotus Carltons/Omegas (with 440 being Lotus Carltons), but didn't make it.

There are several things wrong here.

If the guy was drunk, why was he allowed to drive it?

The guy crashed a car. That's all. A car. Why on Earth would you want to wish an injury on someone for breaking a collection of metal parts? That's plain out of order.

Would you wish Injury on someone who wrecked a ferrari 288GTO? I wouldn't.

its certainly a little excessive to wish him harm, but then again he has ruined someones dream car, of which there are very few left (only 950 made as already mentioned, a good number have obviously already been totalled and others may not have low miles or may not be in as good a shape.) hes definitely getting fired.

thats one reason why if i had an expensive car i would watch it being worked on. too many people work in shoops and at places where they need to drive your car, that have no respect for your belongings.

did any of you see the mustang cobra R thread on that one ford site. if you did, then you know that its not unusual for some bozo to say to themselves " i bet you the stinking rich owner of this car doesnt know what it can do, but i do" and then go out and do something stupid.

I remeber a program on TV about bad mechanics, this one guy had a Nissan 300ZX and he took that to a garage to be looked at. While the car was there he got a phone call from the police asking him if he knew why someone was doing doughnuts and burnouts in a nearby supermarket car park in HIS car, it was the mechanics. They also caught on a hidden camera inside the engine bay (on a different car belonging to a different person) a mechanic messing with the spark plugs and tearing a pipe for the brakes with his screwdriver and then he told the guy thoes needed replacing, but he said other bits that were fine, bit he hadn't broked himself needed replacing (another mechanic had already said what was and wasn't wrong with the car).

Famine: I've heard that unbeliveable many workers are drunk, more or less in just like that kind of jobs. I don't mean that every harbor worker is drunk, but still... And at this point it's just supposition, so let's not judge him yet. I will give you more information about it in few days if there appears to be any.

If a guy messed up my car.......... :grumpy: He's dead :scared:

But that won't happen. I'd most prolly go to the port to handle the car myself.

If i bought a Ferrari F50 and shipped it back here to NZ i'd lock the car after it got put onto the plane/boat and i would keep all sets of keys so that no-one will do anything stupid in it.

And if i sent my car to a mechanic's i'd stay there, or around that area the whole time incase someone wants to go joyriding.

Hidden camera's would be another idea (all over the car).

It's a car. It's a collection of pieces of metal, plastic and dead animals, mixed with some synthetic fluids, designed to extract the most money out of you as the manufacturer can muster.

The innate "value" of the car is insured - by the owner or the shipping company. If the insurers refuse to pay up because the driver was drunk, the driver can be sued for the "value" of the car. You can then find another one.

It's almost impossible to find yourself a new body part if you're seriously injured and totally impossible to find a replacement life.

Why do people insist on saying that they hope this guy was injured, or they'd kill him for making a mistake which resulted in damage to a bunch of pieces of boiled-up rocks? Perspective, people. Perspective.

If that was my car, I'd be way mad at the driver - still, I wouldn't want him dead, it isn't worth it. I'd rather send the car to a high-profile garage for repairs, and charge the person guilty for ruining my car with the bill. :sly:
