I love it.

I realise there are mixed opinions here.

I just wanted to thank the PD team for having GREAT menu music in every game.

That said I hate all the rock that plays during the races, so I turned all that off and put lounge and jazz for races, awww yeaahhhh.

I also noticed there are a bunch of tracks not set to play at all in the music menu, a lot of jazz, and some other genres I didnt care for much.
 
I know lounge music is known for being kinda cheap and tacky, but now it just reminds me of the GT series and gives me fond memories.
 
Most of the music labeled as "Lounge Music" that is turned off are GT5P's menu songs, so I simply turned them back on. I share the same opinion as the OP, it's very enjoyable music.
 
Every GT game has great music. The quality of the music and the arrangement is amazing. Obviously those that bash it have no taste in music. I bet they love their Justin Beiber and Nickelback.

This music is part of what makes the GT series so special and different from the other racing games. Rock music is fine, but it can get dated really quickly; I don't want to be listening to it for the next 5 years while I wait for GT6 :)
 
I'm impressed with the lounge music in this game. Seems almost New Ageish. Whereas the lounge music in Prologue and GT4 was horrible (IMO), this time it's amazing.

Yeah, I've turned off the race music too. Pretty pointless.
 
Some of the tracks with heavy saxaphone are really grating, but other than that I agree. It's classic GT. Very nostalgic :)
 
Yeah, yeah! Lounge music is awesome, I turned on jazz and bossa nova too, as they fit with the mood. GT's music may have sent a new video game first too - I spotted 'Danny Boy', and 'Amazing Grace' in the list of classical tunes! You can criticise many things about GT5, but not the music, its eclectic! 👍
 
Agree I love Gran Turismo's menu music. It is so classy... Also I really really love most of the racing songs too. All together probably one of the greatest soundtracks of any game I've ever played. I haven't even tried the custom music function yet which I thought I would be using a lot.

Same here, always loved GT's menu music. Have music off for A-Spec, is there an option to separately have music on in B-Spec? That'd be pretty good, can't remember if I saw that option or just dreamt it... :crazy:
 
During races and replays I just listen to car engines without music. I find most of the music in GT menus very pleasing, sometimes (like 3% of songs) I find some nu-jazz house passages like slight disharmony for me but I can stand it. Exactly my cup of tea is more like electronic/dub/triphop/liquid funk things than pure jazz, you can taste it right here:

I turned mine off, would have preferred the option to replace it with my own, but y'know, PD be PD.

I have to disagree there too.
Nickelback have some amazing driving songs.
Beiber too, encourages you to finish faster so it turns off 👍
 
Lounge music is good, but ALWAYS the same (for me), that's really tedious to hear the same songs everytime...even though they're good though.
 
The music was good for a while, classic GT style music, but now im at a point where i would rather just listen to my own music.
 
Im on the fence with it. Love the menu music and such but the racing seemed to be lacking in what I need.

I cannot concentrate with soul or easy play music, I really need some 200 pound guy mashing a drum to keep me in a rythm. Yes I thought it out that much!

As MicDog49 said, NB have some great driving songs, however, I wouldn't touch anything to do with that little screaming choud Beiber. Now Metallica, thats what I mainly roll with :D Nothing like hearing "Fuel" to begin a hard fought race!

Is trying to upload the entire gt5 playlist on youtoobz, good place to go listen to favorites while not in game.

I'm actually using them as in game music- I have my sound routed through my pc, so i turned off music in game and i just play them from youtube xD
That way it doesnt interrupt them, and i just play the ones i like!
 
I have too agree as well. I usually listen to alot of SACD's, well the GT music is almost as detailed as some of my SACD's. Great job PD.
 
GT has always been very classy, very professional. Almost clinical... I love GT for its great taste in visuals and music. Addition of techno and more upbeat songs are welcome to me.
