So I love the game! But I cant seem to get the car set ups down. I seem to always slide and the car never wants to turn. I mean I could also just really suck but still. Any tips or help I'd love cause I would love to get good at this game. Thank you

It's not necessary to alter the car setups - of course you can do this and tailor the car to a particular track and conditions.

Personally I don't touch the setups and just race the cars on default setups.

Track temperature is important. I suggest picking a low powered car (e.g. Ford Escort RS1600 - Class Road G), then go to the track you know best with the date set to summer. Get to know how cars from different classes react on default settings.

As far as turning - you can't just mash the brakes like GTS - apply them gradually allowing time for weight transfer. Brake early - much earlier than some other games and use the weight transfer to load up the front tyres and initiate rotation of the car. Get back on the throttle early. With something like the Escort the first part of the turn is the brakes and a little steering, the completion of the turn is throttle and a little steering - most cars you will hardly turn the wheel if you have setup for the corner - slow in, fast out being very careful about positioning on the track

Are you on wheel or hand controller? If wheel I suggest all aids off including ABS and take your time to get to know the feel of a few cars. Good cars to start with are Ford Escort (Road G), Ginetta G40 and other low power front engine, rear drive cars.

Good luck and happy driving!

Thanks I'll give it a go! I play GT sport so make sense I do math the breaks which isnt very realistic I'm assuming. I use a fanatec csl. It seems like the game is dead on ps4 kinda a bummer

Good advice above ^^
I would add that in Time Trial mode, you start with close to optimum tyre temperatures and pressures, both very important.
If you start a Practice session, you start with cold tyres and need to gradually heat them up before you have proper grip.

Yeah I figured that out last night. Such a rookie mistake but it's not really a feature in GT sport so I didnt really think of it. I'll try the time trials as well

If you're using road cars you should drop the tyre pressure by around 4-5 psi per corner as well, the default set-up pressures are based around public road use (as they are OEM spec).

Dropping them will allow the tyres to heat up quickly and help a lot (if you give Assetto Corsa ago as well this also applies to that).

This may help with the FFB settings as well, as while it's based around the T300, understanding the values and what they do may be of help.

I plan on getting the new assetto game when it's out on ps4. Hopefully its half of what it is on PC. Thanks for the tip I shall give that a try. I've been doing single seater cars recently

You could get the old Assetto game in the meantime! The Ultimate Edition contains all the DLC cars and might be available cheap - the FFB is excellent. I play that game for the escapism of being able to drive the Maserati 250F's (front engine F1 cars) - you can pretend to be Fangio in the 6 cylinder version or the V12. I'm not very fast so I pretend to be one of the many privateer, back markers who raced these cars. It really does require you to adjust your driving style to setup for the corner, four wheel drift, steer on the throttle and minimal steering movement!

I recommend AC for escapism, GTS for relaxation, PC2 for online leagues / realistic racing and Wreckfest for excitement. Wreckfest is surprisingly excellent with a wheel - the tracks, graphics etc. are excellent - the only downer is the long loading times.

PS people on GTPlanet aren't normally rude - we have a shared passion. People who are rude are dealt with by the excellent moderators. To stay on the right side of the mods, rather than making multiple posts in quick succession (they don't like that) use the quote function to reply to multiple posts and use the edit function to add extra information to an existing post - if nobody has replied yet!

Yeah wreckfest is a really really good time. Maybe assetto will go on super sale. I got project cars 2 for 10 bucks. I like it cause it feels more gratifying when you get better. Gt sport I have trouble understanding why I'm slow but pc2 I can see why and try and tune the car so it fits me
