Love the Test Course but.....

I'm enjoying the Route X test course A LOT. Jagged shadows seemed to have come back with a vengeance on the test course though. Anyway, my suggestion to PD would be to:

[1] Please include the speed reached along with the seconds recorded. Example 1/4 time of my Aventador is 10.7 but no record of the mph reached at the 1/4 mile. I have to look at the replay in order to guess 135mph. It should have the 1/4 mile, mile etc time and speed reached. Without the mph its like telling a story and leaving out the ending.

[2] Also anyway to have it setup so we can press the square button to switch cars in our garage so we don't have to keep exiting and loading and reloading for each car we want to test?

Im a huge PD critic but these last two updates are on the right track and I really got enjoyment from them more so than any of the others. I love the Test Course but this is just some ideas for improvement. I may be the only one that feels this way but I thought Id put it out there just in case.

You could have just added these points to the numerous Route X thread you know.

But anyway,if I understand your issue correctly regarding switching cars, just set up the room in your own lobby. From there you can access your garage without having to reload the track. No replays though.

Thanks for the reply but I just got this download. Didn't know there were a ton of Route X threads discussing this. The download just came out yesterday:)....Oh well mods feel free to close this thread.

Probably want to refrain from the "text speak" as well since it's against the AUP rules. 👍

Text speak, poor grammar and spelling are all becoming epidemic these days on GTPlanet Brandon. What happened to the days of Moderators cruising every thread and policing like stormtroopers? Never thought I'd miss those days!!

Don't have the track yet but had a quick run on it online yesterday (courtesy of OwensRacing) and it was fun but more of a novelty than anything else. I supposed it'll appeal to the top speed fans. The lack of a speed register on the 1/4 mile and other drag distances settings is an epic fail. Obviously PD doesn't get the North American market and our love for drag racing and going as fast as possible in a straight line. I'd also read there was going to be g-force testing and fully expected a skidpad of some sort, only to find out it's acceleration g-force not lateral g-force, another epic fail.

I suspect this thread will gather steam in a day or three.
No need to delete it.

Smells like sarcasm! I kid;>
About to buy this DLC regardless, as well as the car pack cause I want that Mini, Jaguar, Leaf and the AVENTADOR<3. But yeah, how's Route X otherwise?

Not sure I will be buying the track as it seems a little dull to me to just drive in a straight line for 10 minutes. but the cars I will definately be buying. Maybe its me but I really dont get the hype over this track. Yes the top speed thing is cool but its not like we couldnt kind of test this before at SSR 11.

I agree.
I love the test course, and testing, but speeds at markers would be great, and since when do people measure acceleration g's at drag strips?

I also was expecting a skidpad. :(
Super track though. :dopey:

If you don't test much, you probably should not buy this track, to be honest.

I test alot but I guess i focus more on settign up a car for a particular track, finding a balance between handling, cornering and acceleration etc. 10+ mins of straight lines at 240mph for me = meh . And as I said before we have SSR11. Im probably missing the point but I just dont get the hype

Trap times would be nice. I'm just excited we have something to get drag times at all.

I use the Gs and the 0-60 time to get my launches down. You can change the suspension and lose G-force and think you still have something good going. I think it helps get the best launch you can.

Perhaps because patrolling threads like stormtroopers is pathetic and extremely anal?

Well there is always a few posters that like to derail a thread from its original intent:) I fixed the offending posts so I comply with the AUP. Its a bit of a chore to remember that AUP since most of us text a lot. So you forget sometimes. Its bound to happen a few times even to the most stalwart AUP Nazi's :dopey:

Anyway, I do test a lot of my cars and now I have a venue in which to test acceleration, gearing etc as well as a place to just let the car out full blast. Is it a bland boring track? Sure it can be if you are by yourself. But all out with some fast cars and multiple player its always been fun since the original test course. I love it but just wish it was more detailed and had richer colors especially in the background scenery. Small niggle.

Is there a way, other than going backwards, to go around the whole track in GT Mode? It always stops before the first turn on the top speed run in GT Mode.
