Lvl21- nascar - exiting pitlane help please!

I find this event to be impossible to gain 1st place, the highest I can possibly manage is 3rd but the front two cars seem unreachable and it is impossible to turn ASM off which kills the corner speed.

Anyone else stuck on this?
 
Set up your controller to use the RA menu, you can turn ASM off with that, when exiting the pit, let a car slam draft you to get up to speed (way unrealistic but makes this easier), you should be able to draft from there and get gold fairly easy.

You don't necessarily have to have someone slam you, but you do need to cut someone off quickly. As you are accelerating move to the far right of the track - 5 cars should be ahead of you, with one passing you quickly on the left. You don't want to get in this car's way and slow it down or you won't be able to use it to draft.

This test is SUPER annoying, and just trial/error. You need to pull out quickly and get a bit lucky by having a car fly by you, but still be just close enough so you can draft up to the front pack.
 
The ASM ruins these events and makes it so much harder, turn it off and its a doddle and more fun.
 
just turn ABS to 0 and the ASM is automatically shut off. then it's as easy as home made pie.
 
turning off the ABS also works for the intermediate inside/outside line challenges. I tried many times on these, coming within thousandths of gold.
After seeing this hint I revisited intermediate and got gold on the first pass.
 
You can "cheat" a little bit by swerving to the right and making the then #3 car bump into your rear. You'll get a massive speed boost and should be able to keep up with #2, draft with him untill you get close enough to #1. Managed to win with about 3 seconds to spare.
