Once again my fathers genius idea to buy my sister a mac pays off 👍 The thing is randomly losing connection with our wireless router. Even when I click on the airport thing, it doesnt even show up but it does pick up our neighbors wireless signal. Anyone have any ideas, or want to participate in an all night vigil to shoot santa claus out of the sky this year? :grumpy:

🤬

This is the router I'll be using next year (it's my roommate's router). I wasn't aware of its problems with Macs. It looks like I'll have to go to the library for online use.

If I'm not mistaken, there's a Linux firmware you can flash the router with to make it compatible. Don't hold me to it though.

If you're unsure, don't touch the firmware. If it's 3rd party and it screws up, linksys won't want to know.

I know it's not the best solution, but maybe it's time to get yourself a new router. But, if you're happy to do that, you may aswell fiddle around with the one you have now. If it breaks, oh well, you were going to replace it anyway. If it works, you've saved some cash.

If you do end up replacing the router, I can recommend the D-Link WBR-1310. I've had no problems connecting to it with my Mac Book Pro, plus it's cheaper than a Linksys.
