My local store has the newer Mad CAtz wheel with the pedals for $79 cdn. The official Gt3 wheel is also there for $149 cdn. (I'm not sure if its the driving force or the Gt force but I know that its the blue one.)

So what do I get? I've heard that the GT Force has the 75% brake pedal glitch so I dont want to get that one if its for sure going to happen to my wheel. But I havent head much about the Mad Catz one.

Has anyone got the Mad CAtz wheel? Because if it isn't faulty and works with GT3 and other racing games then i'd rather get that one.

Thanks for you help guys.

BTW: I'm new here and I am loving this forum.

I can give a bit of good feedback, as I've used both of them.

The madcatz had no Glitches, other than having to calibrate it everytime I turned the PS2 on. It is on a force feeback wheel, but rather a "rumble type wheel" In other words, all it does is shake in your hands. It reacts the same way the vibrator in the DS2 does.

The Blue Force Feedback wheel had problems when it was initally introduced. When it was run soley off of the USB port, it did not have enough current to get to full braking power. I've heard of a few tinkerers modifying it (adding batteries) to juice it up to get the 100% braking power. However, the wheel was redone recenlty, and given it's won power point. (plug into the wall) which alleviated the braking issue.

Unfortuantely, the problem with the Shifting at full left or right lock, is a major problem. It seems that when you have the wheel turned to full lock, the shiftin knobs fail to work. The easy way around that is to run an Auto Transmission.

The Force feeback is much better than the rumble system. It gives a more "real" feedback. It will make a very interactive, and enjoyable addition to the game.

I unfortunately run a manual transmission and the shift lock was too much for me to deal with.

welcome to the forum, you'll find more info here than you realize.

Do a search of this forum, for "steering wheel" and you'll find a boat load of info, in addition to my comments.
