Magic Grass acceleration?

i was on the indy yesterday in my x1, its a very well used x1, and it needs an oil change, so with the gear ratios and all, it can only get to about to 245mph, but on the penultimate corner i strayed onto the grass and then my car suddenly got up to 255 mph, is this a glitch?
 
Are you using skid recovery force? If you do, you have the answer.

True, really weird. My G27 goes wild when I go with my X1 on grass though.
 
The X2010 (or X1) is basically what a lawnmower would be like if there were no safety restrictions.

This trick goes back a long way in GT.....get your drive wheel to spin in dirt or grass and when it grabs tarmac again hold on....

Very useful at Eiger...
