As I don't have a 3D printer and wanted magnetic paddle shifters for my two Thrustmaster 599XX Evo and TM28 rims as cheap as I could make them I bought two sets of hinges from Screwfix. 85c Euro incl. VAT for a set of 2 here in Ireland.

Added 6mm x 3mm N52 magnets I had lying around to both sides and set them in place. Then glued the hinges with superglue to stop them moving with the paddle and when set glued the magnets to the hinges and back of the rim with B7000 to make it easily removable without damage later on if needed.

I rounded the edges of the hinges and painted them black but that isn't necessary. Obviously you can use any hinges you want but the ones I used are below for reference.
