I want licenses to be more realistic( like something not close to immpossible). And to bring back the races where they require you to have certain licenses, that was fun and a great challenge. The one good thing they did for GT5 was making two seperate sections for A-B spec, that's good, but not enough races all together. I would have likeing 125 races per spec most broken down to championships.

Back to licenses but I miss those races that require licenses it feels like you own a rank. For ex. If you do the B license you are B racer, then have bragging rights over newbies, it would be a nice feature. Instead of this dumb number level stuff. GT5 is not a arcade game is supposed to live up to simulation to the fullest. And the license should live up to B spec too. If you don't have that license you can't participate.

If realism is the pretext for not having a levelling system (which, I would argue poor game design is a better reason to forcibly remove the concept from the series), there is similarly no room for a licence system as it has been in every game in the series thus far. And it certainly doesn't need to be reintroduced for reasoning that basically boils down to elitism.

Yeah. But it would have been a nice idea for future Gran turismo, figuring most systems hold about 500 GB, so a big game can handle current gens. I don't see why PD can't jam in extra space for a bigger game. They could even invest in better engine to build their multi platform game. Its just a idea.

Did you respond in the right thread there? Most systems do not hold "about 500GB" but what does that have to do with anything? Secondly PD are not even close to being out of space on the disc, a dual layer Blu-Ray can hold approx 46GB of data, GT5 is around 13GB IIRC, not even close to filling a single layer disc.

Then you talk about multi-platform game? What?

I must be loosing my mind on the last part. But some exclusives systems the 500gb ps3 and xbox have 500gb. I meant major systems excluding wii and wii u.

Some do yes but I'm still not sure what that has to do with anything? Why would any game need a large amount of hard drive space?

If this make sense. Games take a huge amount of space. Updates are big, imagine if you had GT6 already and itself has 20 GB if users have the 20GB PS3 they will barely have space for it. And say GT6 had weekly updates because there is a lot of stuff missing of the CD then boom huge game. If that made no since then we can move on with our lives and forget all about this.

I'm with Simon here, what exactly are you getting at?

A bigger HDD doesn't make a system more powerful... the reason the game is so limited is because the processors in the PS3 can't handle it. Having more space to install content won't change anything.

As for your idea, the licenses currently serve their purpose perfectly fine. They teach you basic driving techniques which you can apply both in your time with the series and in other racing games.
They discourage cheating and running off track and as for "Bragging rights" Unless you already have gold in all of the licenses... that's not much to brag about. Even then full gold isn't /that/ difficult.

Edit: People still have 20gb PS3s? I just bought a 4gb Xbox because I didn't want the kinect that was mandatory to get a 250gb, I just bought a bigger HDD afterwards and it was fine.. I don't see why things would be different for a tiny little minority of players who have the smallest of the models

It makes sense but it's wrong, most games don't take a huge amount of space, GT5 certainly doesn't anyway. I already told you it is about 15GB, it could be 46GB if it filled a whole dual layer Blu-Ray. You don't have to install anything to the PS3, you appear to be thinking that games all go onto the hard drive. Sure they do if they're digital, but GT5 isn't available digitally anyway.

Oh I understand clearly now. Makes since, thanks for the info.
