What are the easiest and hardest "make races"? I didn't see a thread on this already, so if there is one I apologize.

Man, you shouldn't have to apologize, that's ridiculous. In my opinion it's the Daihatsu Midget races that are the hardest...cuz..they're....so... .sloooow. Just kidding. Yeah, I don't know which is hardest and which is easiest.

Yeah that definitely seems to be the most PAINFUL.

It depends partly on which random track you get.

That is, one person might remember one particular Manufacturer series as being difficult, but it might have been difficult for them only because they happened to get tracks that mess them up.

very VERY true! Take Rome Nite, for instance. Personally, that's a track I only race once every month or so...if that! I rarely do manufacturer's races, and you only find Rome Nite if you do them; so it's not like you get to practice it often (unless you're way into these races).

Last nite I did the Civic Meeting (or whatever it's called) and I got Rome Short reversed. Now, I've raced the regular Rome Short literally 100 times...maybe more. I know it so well I sometimes skim the newspaper while I blast down the straight. But last nite, I got the reversed track, which I've probly only raced once. Totally felt like a NOOB!

Yes, I found I often got reversed tracks in the Manufacturer's Races. Rome Night II was a not infrequent favourite, IIRC.

Bah. My logging notation makes it difficult for me to extract manufacturers' results from my GT2 logs.

Looking for "RomeN" belies somewhat I said, but I didn't always save and/or log losses. :guilty:

Though I did win at RomeNii at least twice in manufacturers' races...

Oh yes. I was thinking there was a Rome Night Enduro in the game...

But that was only when I used a GameShark Code...

You can use a gameshark to make a Rome Night Enduro? With tire wear? Do you win anything?? Wow.

Sure, you just force a track to be used via GS with the right code. I tried a 50-lap Midfield enduro race (code the track, enter the SSR5 All-Night event), and a 30-lap Tahiti Road race (in place of the Trial Mountain event).

If there ever were an improvement on the enduros in the next GT installment, a track randomizer would be my choice.

On topic, I found the "normal" Corvette races to be quite tough. In stock form, none of them are easy to drive. The "normal" Tuscan race wasn't easy without some car modifications. The Elise Trophy is hard; trying to race the AI, who doesn't seem to have the same problems with this particular Lotus, makes it a toughie. Any race at the Test Course is bound to give you fits if you don't buy a full-race tranny.

I've always found the Neon, TT, R34, Civic, and AZ-1 races to be a cinch. I've raced them all plenty of times, never lost them in any one of my games.

The RX-7 and GT-R events are my favorite, for some reason.

Off-topic. :D

I once sharked one Enduro (probably the Apricot 200) to be at Tahiti Maze.

The game noticed there were no pits, and so tire wear was off. I used a Mine's Lancer Evo V. The way I did it, I couldn't put dirt tires on, but seemed to have enough traction anyway.

On topic...

Someone else used my identical recipe for quickly disposing of Manufacturers' Races...
- 2nd stage power boost (i.e NA tune or turbo)
- supersoft tires

If there was a corresponding race-mod event, I'd do full weight-reduction too.

I seem to recall the Aston Martin races were a little extra challenging, but, again, it might just have been because of the tracks I got.
