So I am currently in the process of building a cockpit, just went to the wreckers 2 days ago and got a nice seat, and an Ebrake.

The first thing I want to do is use the handbrake with GT5. I want to be able to take apart an old DS3 controller and use it with this. Now, on the picture below, I want to use the R3 button. I see the letters R3 now do I just solder a wire to that point within that blue circle beside the letters R3 and solder it to the hand brake and it should work?

Do I need a ground or can I just solder it from my hand brake wire to my R3 button?

Or am I totally off?

Also, my ebrake has one original wire and a wire soldered into the same wire? Any idea why?

Really want to build this today, need some help :S

The simplest way to doing this, is solder the 2 wire on the pins under the black socket.
You just follow the pins order stated at the right side.
Six axis & DS3 are share 2 ground for all the buttons ,the ground is connect as serial.
For me ,I will take Pin1( L2) or Pin 20 (R2) and Pin 7 or Pin 13(both is ground) to made it.

It doesn't really help because I need it for a controller and not a wheel :S

Hi ,

I am currently doing something similar, the easiest for wiring is go to Shoryuken.com and purchase something called the Cthulu Board.

it is fairly cheap, I have them and currently using them for buiding Fightsticks and will be using them for my frex Sequential and Handbrake, and the best thing is they work with PS3 and PC

basically no solder, they have quick termination from handbrake to any ps3 button and they work with PC, I have tested it, my joystick works fine.

i hope this helps.
