I've never used the shift box before as I always use the paddle shifters. However unlike GT4, GT5P seems to default to H shift mode if the shift box is not connected. So I have two questions for the technical experts.

1. Can someone confirm this is normal, that if the G25 control/shift box is disconnected the paddle shifters (and the ones on the sixaxis) are disabled. I know the paddle shifters are still operational because at other times if I press either one the on-screen menu pops up. They just don't work the gearbox.

2. I'm guessing all I need to do is bridge the right pins on the connector to make it think the switch is set to sequential. Question is, which pins. If anyone has any technical insight to this I'm all ears.

Right now I'm stuck in Auto-slushbox hell. And no, I no longer have the stick unit, I had to send it back to Logitech for a warranty replacement.

I got it to work by changing the H Shifter to sequential mode. Then you can use paddle gears on the steering wheel.

I've no doubt that would work, however I don't have the shifter box, and the switch to change to sequential mode is on that box. I have the wheel, pedals but no shifter box connected.

Based on the wiring diagrams I was able to find for the shifter box connector, it looks sadly like the buttons all go to a single controller which has a serial interface to the main unit. If that is the case then there is little hope of fixing this (without a patch from PD).

BTW: According to the US GT5P manual that came with the disk, the G25 is officially a supported wheel. Now can we please have an option for it in the software (including a sequential/H pattern override setting!!!).
