It's Malice at the Palace- WNBA edition. The Detroit Shock and the Los Angeles Sparks went at it very late (about 5.5 left in the game). Detroit still won, but this was a great motor to give the WNBA attention... just not the KIND of attention they are looking for. The good thing is that this didn't spill out into the crowd at the Palace at Auburn Hills. Here is the video:

(never mind the jackass comments)

An incident like this is surely NOT what the WNBA wants. This has capped off a somewhat crazy week of confrontations including that Danica Patrick/Milka Duno incident (which was not a real fight). By the way, speaking of jackass comments, look at this quote from this same video posted by another person:

"I call shennanigans. Or at least a mild conspiracy to try and save the WNBA with a last desperate stunt. As most have already commented, this is the lamest "brawl" in the history of sports. In fact, it might not even make the top ten in a sports center countdown if this were a mens sport. I dont know if anyone has noticed, but ESPN is hyping this up as the brawl of the year when clearly its not. And dont even get me started on the "wheelchair." WNBA is broke and this aint gonna save it." -"bucthompson" responding to this YouTube:

Again, I'd be more than welcome for you to share your thoughts.

People honestly watch WNBA games? I agree with it being a publicity stunt to get people watching because you know the next time the Shock and Sparks meet a bunch of people will tune in to see what happens. Just maybe someone will like it.

Seems like Detroit basketball always has something surrounding it.
