Yes, I'm an Xbox fanboy. Yes, I like Xbox. Yes, I'm sorry. But watching these drift videos makes me want a PS2 more than anything. I know I could do it... Especially if I'm drifting in a game that tells you not to, Sega GT 2002. I hate that game, but it's all I have for right now, bare with me. Anyway, I do have a PS1, and Gran Turismo 2... Is it possible to do anything like you guys are doing in that? The reason I ask is, I see no tuning sheets for drifting in GT2, and also, I don't want to have to dig my PS out of the closet just to see it doesn't work. If I do get a PS2, you can count on some nice vids from me... Check this out... Yes it's Halo, but still.

Oh, my main quesion is can you drift in GT2?

Why dont you try Project Gotham Racing or you could wait for the second one. Those games have bonus points for drifting

Project Gotham is actually rather fun... till you race an experienced driver who's using the dolphin. Then, your only practical choice is to also use it or be destroyed unless you're good enough with something like the viper. But the point is that the "slides" and "kudos" system is rather enjoyable with multiplayer. ^_^ I recommend it

Yes, I love PGR, but I've played that for so long I've gotten bored of it. Yes, I kick ass at it too, over 3000 kudos on the Arcade Race>Easy>San Fransisco track. The key is to get one string for the entire track, which isn't that easy...

If you have a wheel and pedals, drifting in GT2 is easy. But without analog buttons to precisely control the throttle, it might be a bit tricky(but possible). Some of the tracks in GT2 are really good for drifting, like red rock valley and autumn ring. In autum ring there's a 360 corner where drifting is really mind blowing.
I've tried with about a 100 cars and they all drift almost as well as in GT3. 200SX, RX-7, Silvia etc....... all are very driftable.

Oh and in GT2 you can perform some really radical weight shifting techniques that really rock the car, so you need a wheel that can take some serious beating. I know cause i broke mine.

No wheel :( , but the dual shock is working fine for me. I love it! man this is fun. My personal favorite right now is the Subaru Impreza Rally car, and I cambered the front wheels slightly, and slapped simulation tires on the back. It's pretty fun... I need to find my simulation disk though, so I can buy some more cars.

I can't stand tapping X! It's annoying... i've gotten used to the analog buttons on the Dualshock 2 and my wheel so i don't tap.
I think you can drift cleaner with an analog controller anyway.

Yeah, analog all the way... My new favorite is the Unisia Jecs Skyline. Man that thing is fun around the Autumn ring turns. I want a PS2 :(...
