James Nesbit said so, well he said he misses it anyway. Besides that this is a forum for people who live in Manchester and people who have been to Manchester, and it's only here to satisfy my curiosity about who here has been or does live here.

I thought Manchester-ians all walked around with David Beckham moheckans (sp?) until he left. I guess im wrong though. Also Manchester Utd suck, muhahahahaha.

I've been to Manchester a few times. Strangely, I've never really felt comfortable walking around the streets there, for reasons I can't put my finger on.

Been twice for business, and twice to go to the Rugby 7s at the Commonwealth Games.

Most Mancunians are Man City supporters. This is because Man City's Maine Road ground (as was) was actually IN Manchester, so they were the local team. Manchester United's average supporter is from Burkina Faso.

I don't DO the west side of the Pennines. So much so that when I wrote off my car (3 years ago...) it was over the Woodhead Tunnel, about 10 feet to the west of the top of the Pennines...

A Ford Fiesta.

Curiously, although it was written-off by the insurers, it wasn't THAT badly off - a bit of panel-beating and welding on the rear and a couple of light clusters. Wouldn't have needed pulling, as I drove at 70mph on it with no worries. It is, in fact, still driving around to this day... Someone got a bargain fixer-upper...

last year i was in Amsterdam waiting a flight to Glasgow....6 hours later KLM decided to cancel the flight that should have left 5 hours ago...they said it was technical difficulties...(the reality was that there was only 5 people booked on it and it wasnt viable for them for fly...bystards)...

so they came to us and said that we will have to wait till tomorrow for a flight unless we wanted to take a British Airways flight leaving in 2 hours that goes via Manchester (see, my story has relevance to the thread)...so we took that....i hate Amsterdam and especially Schipol....

so we got on the plane and into Manchester and went to the follow on desk and they asked us...Glasgow?...you wanna go to Glasgow?..there is no Glasgow flight for 8 hours....you were given wrong info at you destination....

and you wonder why i hate KLM...so, we have already paid £1,000 per person for our tickets from the far east...so i sure as hell wasnt paying any more for a different flight...we just sat there and waited...anything is better that the hellhole of schipol...watching travellers come and go and come and go..

so thats my One and only experience of the Mancunian culture....sitting in a dreary departure lounge for 9.5 hours (the Gasgow flight was delayed) on a rainy afternoon bored out of my tits...

yeah, i love Manchester...must go back there...

the moral of this story, never ever ever ever fly KLM...dont even think about it...
