i am sure this topic was brought up before, but the reall question is how many races it took you to get used to the manual, for me it took two races, the first one was a disaster, so i stopped watch some replays and the way they down shift and found out braking and down shifting is the key secret.
went to the second race and voila, since then i never looked back to automatic :D
then there is the style of braking, there are corners you can negotiate without releasing the gas button you just brake while on full gas, and then there is the other technique that i always use, press the gass with the middle joint of you'r thumb and when you need to brake you do that with the tip of you'r thumb releasing gas then pressing gas back again quickly this keeps the revs of the engine up without loosing speed!! :cheeburga cheesee heh  even i am amased by myself :D

LONG LIVE RALLYING

:D i did not see that there is a thread with the same topic, it was after i wrote the post i scrolled down and found the other one :D

improving you'r shifting skills will improve in rally modes because then you have to feel the car by the sound of the engine!!
i would recomend to keep on trying manual in rally modes for perfecting the shifting technique!! :D
and one more thing go one gear at a time while down shifting do not jump gears that's when you panic, and take it slowly!!

AUTO is good for begginers, but when you want more challenge, try MANUAL and bring TCS and ASM to Zero...!

You'll hate this game eventually! Hehehe! :p :p :p

Well, if you are used to play car simulation games, switching to Manual would be something of old times. Automatic is really easier but your brain just needs more :hypnotize

Always manuel. I never ever drove any of the GT games as auto, ecept when I wanted to see what it was like.

GT needs better automatics. The current system stays at high revs, even when off of the gas, and that's not right. I'd like to see a real life type of auto, where when you're coasting, it up shifts, and then you slam on the gas and it downshifts into the right gear.

Also, Automatics usually have less gears than manuels, but in the game, it's all the same.

I used to have for my PC with a stick shift on the right absolutely rocked in Colin Mcrae Rally.
So a USB wheel and pedals is definitely on my shopping list, gotta be stick shift though.
