Manufacturer Affinity - Your Favourites?

So, with all the bad news and such, I thought something a bith more light hearted would make for a nice break, wouldn't it?

So, we've probably all heard about Forza 4's new manufacturer affinity system, which allows you to side with certain manufacturers to get yourself titles and badges to show off with as well as discounts on upgrades or other practical in-game stuff. Given the amount of time that's supposed to go into it, it shouldn't be possible to level a whole bunch of manufacturers just like that, so we'll all have to make choices as to which manufacturer will be focused on.

I know that the full car list isn't out yet, but with FM3's car list and what's been announced so far, that'll give us an idea as to what should be expected from FM4. And there's always real world bias to go with, right? :dopey:

So, which manufacturers are you guys going to level up first and foremost?

For me, my top priority would probably be BMW. I love most of the M cars and, with the older ones, there are plenty of BMWs across the boards.

Second would probably be Nissan, as I love the Skyline and Z-cars, which, again, span quite a large bit of the performance scale.

I'm not set on a third choice yet, but it could probably be some 'smaller' manufacturer, along the lines of Subaru or the like.
 
I WAS going to do Porsche. But since Porsche is not in I will be going with my next favs: VW/Audi, and then BMW and then Mercedes Benz followed by either another euro or switching over to Honda/Nissan (cuz I love the Skylines, R32-R34). I still don't fully understand the affinity thing 100% or how it will exactly work.
 
Basically, when you drive a car, you will get experience points to level up the manufacturer of the car you're driving. As far as I understood, it's basically linked to the amount of mileage you did in one of their cars.
 
It might be BMW with the old M5 E39, M3 E92 + E46 and others. I would have loved to do it with some old Porsches. Damn it is so sad even thinking about it. :nervous:
 
I will "concentrate" on two to start with. They make it seem like it's a long process, so who knows if I will even move on from them. It doesn't matter what hasn't been announced, I already know the two I will be doing...

Afterall, she's an old love of mine in FM3. 👍

Has beaten Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches and Corvettes at equal PI in various leagues, great car.:)

You know, I am just not into the classic looking cars that much, like that one for example. I can "appreciate" the design, the ideas, the flow, and especially how much other love them. For me, I have never really got behind them.

There are a couple exceptions, some 40's Ford trucks , 50's Chevrolets. But the oldest I prefer to go back really is the 70's (with the exception of some 60's Mustangs and Corvettes). Even the original 53 Corvette visually doesn't do anything for me, I do appreciate it.
 
HONDA as my primary choice ! TypeR's hold a special place in my garage !

BMW will definately be another ! M-Spec nuff said.

NISSAN bringing up the rear but by no means a bad thing - The actual GTR is one of my favourite cars on the planet, and any car (skyline) with the GTR badge - and i'd love it if there were a Pulsar GTiR in the game !!

I appreciate the uniqueness in Morgan's design, but I have to agree with the Top gear guys, their cars look a bit crosseyed indeed. Great choice, though, especially because the choice is equally unique :D

Someone on FM.net created a spreadsheet of likely cars and he gt a few right so far... He's got the Pulsar GTI-R listed, too. And I'd love to have one in FM4, too.

Also, Honda might draw me in too. The NSX :drool:

But I'm suprised by the strong following that BMW has. Good to see, for sure 👍

This series need more Alfas.

156, GTV, 75 etc etc, so under represented.

This. I love Alfa Romeo, but they are rarely represented as they should be in racing games.

I will probably go for Mercedes-Benz. The C 63 AMG + SLS AMG + SL 65 + SLR = plenty of mileage. 👍
 
Considering that my dream car is in the game 71' Cuda (although I want the 440 six-pack not the 426 hemi) it will likely fall under Chrysler, unless they actually decide to give Plymouth their own brand like it should.

Next to that it will likely be Ford and Chevy, Mercedes that I will drive most likely. I will drive the crap out of the Syclone and Hummer so I guess GMC and Hummer too.

I will likely level everything up, I'm OCD like that.

That'll surely take a while, but I can releate to that... I doubt I can limit myself to just three or four manufacturers. Five are probably the least I'm going to go four, with up to ten being more likely...
 
Would be interesting to do it with Delorean, maybe you get the time machine upgrade after lvl 50.

And when you get it, you're set back to level 1, right to the very beginning of the game :dopey:
But I'd have to tip my hat to everyone who manages to push the DeLorean that far. I know I couldn't do that.

Well I have a load of time. A month after it releases I have kidney transplant surgery in which I will have 4-8 weeks of recovery. I'm sure I would get a good amount play in that time.
