Unusual suggestion, but...
A GT Mode Menu with Map like this :


But with GT4's 3D style (This one doesn't include map IMO) :

Also with 3D model environments (Buildings, brigdes, trees, streets, etc.)
And modern-styled like GT5's

Bonus/Addition :
If GT7 includes a free-roam mode
The free-roam place uses the GT Mode Main Menu's Map
Ability to visit Home, Events, etc during free-roam too

I'm not sure what problem you're trying to solve, but you may be onto something. May I ask "why"?

Remind me of that White city background in GT5 Main menu where the Honda CR-Z '10 is driving around the road with other cars passing and such and then the car stops at a place.
