Let me make this a short intro because I just want to quickly release this thread. So get this. Marco Andretti gets win #1 at Sonoma in addition to getting the Bombardier Rookie of the Year honors for 2006. How cool is that? SENSATIONAL win for this young man. He is an Andretti after all. Dave Despain had a "My Take" on saying that drivers like Marco Andretti and Danica Patrick and some NASCAR rookie (I forgot) aren't real racers simply because they haven't won. And to him, real racers win races. And at the time of that "My Take," Marco hasn't won. Now he's won. So is he a real driver now?

Anyhow, let's give Marco Andretti some love.
 
Unfortunate about the controversy, and unfortunate it was a dull race. But I can't be all negative towards the IRL today... good to see the next Andretti winning and hopefully we'll see him in F1 (or Champ Car) soon.

I was standing at turn 7 yesterday watching the the race unfold as AGR car holding up the field. Kanaan being defensive was the most obvious action on the track. Herta spinning then stalling in front of me during the closing stages caught my attention too!

It was also rather intriguing that ABC/ESPN didn't have a replay of Herta's spin... :odd:

BTW did anyone else see Herta's zinger in the "But Wait, There's More..." section of the latest AutoWeek? Insensitive, yes, but in a hilarious kind of way. :lol:
