Am I the only one having issues with the Mark Forums Read button? When I click it I get this:

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

I just experienced it, too. I highly doubt that it has to do with cookies if two people experience it for the first time at the same time.

Nope your not. I've just tried and received the same message.

Using Firefox 3.6.3 on Snow Leopard if anyone needs the info.

Thanks for the heads-up, this has been fixed!

Perfection! 👍

Now about those new smileys... :p

Hmm, I must have forgotten to remove them before uploading the new files to the server while upgrading the forum software today. The original smilies have been restored. As always, hit refresh if you don't see them.

^You meant, original vBulletin smilies?

EDIT1: They do restore, but not a some places. (GTP smilies, basically)
EDIT2: Oh joy! :)

My Mark Forums Read doesn't work either, along with a couple other (but not all) vBulletin boards I use. Apprently a recent update had a bit of a complication with it? Maybe relevant.

I'm on Chrome.

You must be using the link in the header menu of GTP Lite? That's how I fixed the link on the forum home page, but I didn't realize there was another in the default vBulletin theme. Regardless, it should be fixed now.

Unfortunately still not working. I'm stilll getting:

Code:
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.

I'm using this URL:

Code:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?do=markread&markreadhash=1274291382-dc6d90f328a840c907ad0b3e72c957300329ffe7

Which is the link address copied from the hyperlink on the bottom of the main normally-viewed GTP Forums section.

Hm, it's working fine for me (also in Chrome). Try logging out, clearing your cookies, and then logging back in again.

Same Chrome version here on OSX, still no problems with any public themes. Is anyone else having this issue?

Sorry for the late-ish reply. I haven't been visiting GTP for quite some time, so I can not reconstruct how long this has been going on.

I get the "security token invalid" message when I use my bookmarked "mark forums as read" link. When I manually click the link at the bottom of the forums overview page, it works fine. When I bookmark that very link however, it doesn't work.

I am on Firefox 3.5.9 and WinXP SP3. Will log out, clear the cache, log in and see if the problem persists now...

EDIT: yes, I'm afraid this problem persists. Funnily, I have read of the exact same problem from member of a completely different (yet also vBulletin-based) forum only days ago. Maybe one of the latest forum updates has a bug?

EDIT #2: I just bookmarked a fresh link, accessed it from my bookmarks, and it worked. I will monitor this problem and report further issues.

EDIT #3: So the newly bookmarked "mark forums read" worked for a while, but now runs into the "security token invalid" error again. Is it possible that the forum has to have the "markreadhash" value in order to mark the forums read, but said hash value changes in planned intervals? That would mean that one can not bookmark this link, because it will be invalid after a while.

That's correct - the token will only be valid for the length of your session. Once that expires, it won't work, and since it's required to process the request, you can't bookmark the link.

Okay, that makes sense then.

I have the "mark forums read" link bookmarked in the first place because the link is not displayed and thus easily accessible on every page of this forum. But since I can not bookmark said link anymore, do I have a chance to mark the forums read other than going to the "All Forums" page and scrolling down? And if not, do you see a realistic chance of putting the link on a more prominent position, such as the yellow control box on the top right of every forum page?

I've never really considered the feature to be very useful. How are you using it, exactly?

Well, I enter the Planet via "new posts" (bookmarked), open the threads which are interesting for me in tabs and then make a "cut" by using the "mark forums read" bookmark. Or rather I used to, because now I can't anymore. I then read the threads and reply if I feel the need to. Said "cut" is necessary to tidy up behind my search and to know what I have seen/read read, and what I haven't.
