Even the styling is nice in a sort of retro cool way (i.e. square and chunky).

Hmmm no...
From a long distance and without my glasses, maybe, because they have a similar profile shape.
The Citroen is much prettier, although I wouldn't even think about choosing the Xantia over the Ghibli.
