Master Licence and Nordschleife CE

Hey, guys

Typically I like to finish what I start, but sometimes it is too difficult of a task and it takes insane level of effort.

After Monza, Spa, Barcelona, Red Bull Ring, Interlagos, Le Mans and Suzuka I wanted to complete Nordschleife CE and I wanted to prepare for it properly.

Also, I wanted to learn how to trail brake on a controller and decided to complete all licences. I thought it ends with a Super Licence, but to my surprise there is also a Master Licence!!!

I started doing it and reached this point so far:

It is very difficult because of the time requires to GOLD. At what stage of your game progress did you decide to do it? What prepares you for it the most? Any suggestions to master it in a less painful way?

Same question on Nordschleife. How to best prepare for it and not reach a burn out?

After that I will solely focus on the sport mode (on lice racing, TTs, weekly races).

At first I didn't really care about golding licenses and CEs, but eventually I wanted to complete the game so I did gold them all. Nord was the least of my worries as a couple of the Tokyo layouts were the hardest for me.

That being said, with Nord the first sector is one of the more difficult ones, so if you're having trouble with it just skip it and come back to it later. It's worth 6mil credits to gold it all so definitely worth it.

I think doing CEs and licences is a good learning experience. Especially for people that haze zero experience is racing like me. It is frustrating at times because it takes time as I need to deal with a huge gap in skills and experience that I have, but if I will stay consistent, eventually I will get to a decent level.

Wondering how many people completed the Master Licence on a controller. Probably many

I did the Master licences a second time for another account lately and felt they got a bit harder since i did them first time shortly after release.

The Master Licence is a bit beyond my current level of skills. The gap to Gold is too significant. I need to reflect and see what and how I do my next step. Doing the Master Super Licence and Nordschleife might be a bit too stretch and can lead to a burn out.

The best aid to do the CEs and all the licenses to me was the available ghost. Just set it up with a 0.5s gap and try to follow it.

And as i remember correctly, you can watch a demo lap/sector of that ghost as well. So you can see where to break or what speed thru a turn is possible.
Just try to copy that ghost as good as possible and you'll make it!

If that's not helping, i bet my ..., that there a "how to's" on youtube.

I golded all CE and licences the first month I got the game last year. Some laptimes are way harder than others but it's really satisfying when you beat them. If you're close I would not advice giving up and coming back later, as you'll have to learn everything from scratch again.

Racing online is a different beast, and your knowledge from CEs and TTs does not translate fully, as you will have to take different trajectories depending on the cars around you. It is more a question of consistency and adaptability than getting the fastest lap time you can. Plus you will do a lot of laps around one track for a race, between training, quali and actual race.

I am lightyears behind some of my mates in TTs and CEs, but when we race together, results are different.

So don't hesitate to tip your toes in online racing 😉it is a fun school too.

Thanks, guys. I am very well aware that on-line racing, TTs are different from Licences and CEs. You might not realize that I am coming with zero experience in GT7 or gaming in general. That is why I found going through licence tests as a good way to learn and polish skills - like observing what happens with different cars at different tracks, try to learn trail braking on a controller, learn tracks.

Eventually I am making progress, but it is an effort for me and not a small one. I am progressing, but too slowly. I wish I could learn it all faster.

As for the on-line racing, I simply do not want to be the guy taking other drivers out and want to drive both fast and accurate. I am going to start doing daily races as of next Monday just to build this new experience.

Will try to crack this one test I am massively struggling with:

@Lightpilgrim I can honestly say racing online will transform your approach to this game.

I was very much an amateur in terms of racing technique, and my knowledge of said techniques was almost nonexistent, up until GT Sport. Don't get me wrong, I was very much enjoying driving in these games over the years, but old me would get totally wiped out by current me in race pace.

Everyday is certainly a school day, as they say. The key is to understand how different types of vehicles respond differently to your inputs and how much you can harness this control to squeeze the most out of each car, but racing online with other humans puts this understanding to its limits and it's where your learned techniques will really come to the fore.

As others have said, the best way to learn is to do (and make sure you get your SR up as fast as you can, no matter what).
