I’ve played over 20 races in Sport mode now in rank B/S and I don’t think I’ve had a single bad experience so far. I’m usually in the mid-pack scraping by so there’s lots of battles going on around me. There are for sure overtakes that go wrong or people who misjudge their braking but it’s all the result of people trying to be genuinly competitive rather than reckless. I have no issues with someone losing their rear and then sliding into another car; it’s the kind of unpredictable drama that makes racing what it is.
I kinda expected the Tokyo Expressway daily race to be a complete carnage… but it wasn’t really. All the races have been really solid, good fun. The only thing that has been bothering me is the inconsistent penalty system which seems to go bananas when people hit walls at different angles and speeds. And this happens a lot on street circuits like Tokyo Expressway.
I’ve also noticed that at some times during the day the matchmaking will put me with really good rank A players that have a 30+ sec pace, but I guess this might be the result of not finding enough players of similar ranks to fill one race? It doesn’t bother me all that much since I’m in favour of an eventful race rather than being at the top by myself. I only won like 3 races in GT Sport during my 300 hour playtime and I never really cared.
