Biaggi delighted with MF1 test
MotoGP star Max Biaggi got behind the wheel of a Formula One car at Silverstone on Wednesday. The flamboyant Italian, known in bike circles as ‘The Roman Emperor’, was invited to test at the British Grand Prix circuit by MF1 Racing.

"It was an amazing experience," he declared, after completing nine trouble-free laps in unpleasantly wet conditions. "The weather made it quite difficult and I had one moment on opposite lock when I put down the power too early, but the overall grip and power of the car was very impressive."

Biaggi’s test was split into three segments: an installation lap, followed by runs of three laps and five laps. Between the second and third runs he was given a new set of Bridgestone wet-weather tyres.

"The car is a big toy," he added. "It's like a big go kart. I didn't get anywhere near its limit today, but I went fast enough to appreciate what level of performance can be reached."

Biaggi, 34, wouldn't make any comparisons between MotoGP and Formula One. "I love both," he said. "You can't compare them because on a bike I am free, it's like I am dancing on it to make it go fast. In an F1 car you are strapped in very tight, which is a weird sensation for me."

Biaggi, who previously tested a Formula One Ferrari back in 1999, has no further tests planned with MF1 Racing, but he made his intentions clear to the team. "I would love another test, preferably when it's dry!" he concluded.

I didn't know Max was dropped from any MotoGP ride for next season. I've never been a fan of him but it will be a shame not too see him on the grid. If only to have Rossi toy with him.

Soon, Ricky Carmichael is gonna be racing for Aguri or something. This bike -> F1 thing is the new fad.

I was going to make a tread about this but I didnt think it was a big deal.

I dont like the bike to F1 fad.

He’s lucky to get the chance, though. Everyone else would have to pay a big price to get even an MF1 test.
