max speed differ but same car on default..?

sorry if i post this in the wrong section.
anyway..back to the topic, i tried my default minolta and got a max of around 250 wif nitrous, but i tried my brother's minolta on a different save file, his default hit..380 with nitrous.
now a default can get 380?! and why does it differ SO MUCH?
is it because of A-spec points or something??
 
The only way I can possibly see that ever happening is the 380 was in kph. A stock 88C-V cannot do 380mph, in fact the highest recorded speed (w/o wheelie glitch) for one is 320.72mph

A-spec points do nothing at all, at all. They're only there as some sort of way of showing how fair you race/how much you B-spec.

Has to be an mph/kph confusion.

Heh... No problem. Let me know if you were both using the same units of measurement though, because you may have come across a massive glitch in one copy of the game if you were...
 
maybe your brother also did the oil change and you didnt. that could count for some increase in top speed but thats quite a big margin.

An oil change cannot account for a 130 mph difference. It has to be the difference of mph and kph.
