Pretty sure you have to buy a car for Maximum Mileage, not just own it. Don't think trading it will trigger the trophy.

Maximum Mileage
Buy a used car with 300,000km or more travel distance.

To buy used cars, go to Used Car Dealership from the GT Life menu. Each time you go here, there will be different cars. If you don't find a car with 300,000km or more in travel distance, come back another day. And by that I mean in-game time. After you do an event, either in a racing series, license test or special event, there will be a new day. Keep coming back until you find a car that matches the requirement.
