Maximum players?

I've search and cannot find the answer but does anyone know the maximum player count?

I noticed in the demo from TGS that it was 20 players on Willow Springs, checked the official website and noticed it says 24 online.

Anyone know if the maximum player for offline races has been confirmed yet?
 
I've been confused by that, too. It was originally stated to have max grids of 20, the beta only seemed to have Sport Mode races maxing out at 18, but the grid list had 22 spaces - and then this info says up to 24. All I've seen out of more recent footage is the max grid of 20, so I've assumed that's what we'll get. It's also possible that the extra four could be reserved for spectating, I guess? I find it highly unlikely that PD's going to be able to squeeze out the power to render four extra cars on screen.
