May get this game, Couple of questions.

1. How's the online? Is it actually fun, or is it a pretty looking bumper car match like most other games like this?
2. I'm not much of a race fan (by that, i mean i don't watch it on tv, nor do I really care about nice cars, I do like games though), Would I still be able to be decent at it and have fun?
3. Is the online populated?
 
1) online = awesome. Latest patch put mechanical damage on. 2) ABSolutly. Many guys online are newbies, infact, they sometimes ask under the ingame chat menu what a certain type of car is, who makes it etc. No one can ever know everything about motorsport, and GT5 is a great start to learn. Theres even a musuem of info, you get cards to explain things everyday when you log in. 3) Online is always populated and in December, Christmas day, it will explode with players.
 
1) It's pretty fun, it takes a bit more skill than a regular online racing game.
2) Like the online, it takes more skill than an arcade racing game obviously. You've got much more stuff to do in between races.(technical upgrades, oil change, body repair etc and like KilzoneStrife said you learn a lot about motorsport. But once you get the hang of it it's a lot of fun, even the technical parts.
3) Very populated at the moment, and will most propably stay that way the coming future.
