First of all, my English isn't great, hopefully it's okay enough to talk you through the steps I made.

The first thing to made my own rig, was to make it low ! Very low, as driving a go-kart or formula-1 car.

Second part, I wanted to make a mobile rig. "Easy" to put all your stuff together and maybe there would be one day or week to grab my rig, put it in the car and race against or with unthusiasts of sim-racingduring a game-party.

At first, I made a virtual prototype, with virtual hinges and so I could try if my construction would work, or not.

The smaller green Simcase has the benefits of being lighter, smaller and it had a faster design than the larger orange box. The orange box instead had a more logical way to unfold with the hinges and the "front-door".
The biggest problem was to made a table for my steering wheel. Later on you would see how I solved that problem.

There was another benefit for me, because we had a large amount of MDF and it was easy for me to made my rig out of these plates.

At first, I had the mistake that I made the original door in the green version. But with this kind of construction it was almost imposible to make a hinge between the cover & body. So this was a small job and here it is :

And when the Simcase is unfolded :

My solution for the table: To large side-boards like the side-boards of a rear-wing of a formula-car. And the table itself :

The 2 pins are from a kind of lock-system that will fall in place at the vertical sideboars. At the top of the tabel is at each side 1 security lock to provide the table for tumbling while I'm racing. I also made 2 blocks in the cover, to place the table inside and fold the Simcase away :

For the pedals I bought some metal ledgers. This part was very easy :

As you can see. I putted the pedals on a small ramp. I secured this ramp with 2 bolts in the smaller weight-plate under the DFGT-pedals. With to simple 90 degree' brackets mounted to the ramp, I made a kinda system to choose the best setup for racing.

For the seat, first I was searching for the smallest car-seats, but they where still to big for my simcase. So I was stick to smaller seats. Like they are from the go-karts:

There was a huge hump between my legs and near my vital parts, so I cutted it away and filled the gap again with glassfiber, but now more flattened.

Last part of construction, the rails and drilled holes to put my seat for multiple positions too:

Just because I'm a fan of our Tommie-san :

I'm uploading a video right now, a little bit clumsy, but then you will see how to unfold and prepare it for racing :)

Thanks !

Yes, the construction was my nr2 priority, to make it compact and with a low profile. A couple of years ago I worked with flightcases and these cases where my inspiration to make a case and not simply a rig that stands permanently in my room and the part of the mobilety was also a reason to built this.

For everyone that wants to copie this idea, I can recommend plywood but in any "case" no use of MDF ! Maybe I will make a second Simcase, lighter, bigger and cheaper.

That will be a challenge for sure :D

Today I was surprised !

I was watching some RIG's on TWIP when I saw a topic about the ConverTTable.

Well, it's clear for me now my idea wasn't bad at all :D
