Mercedes-Benz is going to show this concept convertible in Detroit motor show next month. The big convertible is derived from S600 (including long wheelbase and V12 twin-turbo engine) but enclosed with a softer, more classical design body. Production is likely. It is believed to join the battlefield with Bentley Arnage Drophead and Rolls-Royce Corniche next year. Strangely, DC chose to develop the luxury convertible as a Mercedes instead of Maybach. Does this mean the company plan to dump the Maybach brand in the future?[/SIZE]

Although, the V12 is already a bit too much power for the convertible now, especially the AMG version. So I'd hate to see how much chassis flex this 4 door one has.

V12, 4-door convertible saloon and it looks good, although not as a conventional Merc.

I thought Maybach's dismal sales would be reason enough to can them? This thing is no beauty queen, but it can be fixed by getting rid of those god-awful pimp-y wheels!

Nice alternative to the Rolls-Royce & Bentley, though. 👍 Very Mercedes, very appropriate for LA.
