Maybe a stupid question, but what about PS2 game saves?

From what i know of the PS3, it doesn't (and never did) have Playstation memory card ports, so is there going to be any way to transfer game saves from a PS2 to a PS3, or will we have to start PS2 games over again if we want to play our old games on it?

USB, via a max drive or similar devce, or perhaps a USB data cable might be possible to hook the PS2 upto the PS3 and upload PS2 game saves off and cards in the PS2 via the cable. There's no official word, but they're just two of many possiblities.

It's probably going to be something like described here. It would work for PS1/PS2 games and you just upload everything to the hard drive.
