Maybe confirming the rumor of the changes on the AIs to make them crash into you so you lose the Clean Race Bonus? [video proof]

I've made a custom race just to farm the daily workout (2 Laps at Route X) The race had 20x fuel use and tires degradation so the AI cars ran out of Fuel by the middle of the first lap. At the end of my 2nd lap I caught the AIs and as I was overtaking them, they tried to block me, confirming the rumor of the change made on last update to make AI cars to crash into you so you could lose the "Clean Race" bonus!!

Here's the video:

That's really far fetched to be honest. This is just the AI trying to defend, not accounting for the massive speed difference. So, just poor AI, not a conspiracy against the players :)

The game has it's issues with the economy, which are well deserved to be criticized, but this does not hold any ground in my mind at least.

Not sure about this but I am suspicious with how often the AI drivers slam their brakes on at the apex of a corner when I am tight on them ready to get a toe on the drive out of the corner. Lost many a clean race bonus from that for the first few days.

I've returned to adding the racing line, not for me, but so I can use it to help me predict the path that the AI are likely to take more easily. And therefore, so i can avoid hitting them.

However, the AI have hit me when I thought I was easily passed and had left enough space. Not reviewed this in the replay though, because life is too short for me to be bothered to do this!

I find that hard to believe they're purposefully made to run into you, I really don't think PD would stoop that low. That's some real Rockstar Games' buffoonery.
This is a game developer who has taken active steps to encourage its player base to spend hundreds of £/$ of real money for single cars.
There’s no depth to how low they would stoop imo. Not that I actually believe the OP here, but still. All conspiracies are possible now with Polyphony Digital.

The only thing far fetched about this is the AI deliberately trying to ram you...

It's likely not intentional. It's likely the AI was called for an update, and we're getting it but the one programmer had a list of 50 things to do and he was already browsing pornhub in another chrome tab.... ie, he's not interested in the game as much as the players are

The AI definitely do not try to avoid a collision, there are a number of missions in which the player has to be very careful to avoid the AI. I have been taken out by AI driving into me, if I slow to correct oversteer, then they don't react to avoid a collision like you'd hope that a clean racer will.

I find these types of collisions to be annoying. In the 30 lap HSR mission, I've been put into the barriers several times by the AI. For most of these, it felt like being taken out by a dirty driver.

While I agree that the AI cars can be aggressive at times (I don't see that in your video) and I FEEL like they purposely ram into me, I have to remind myself that this is not the Sophy AI. These cars are semi-dumb and stick to their scripts. If you are in their more-or-less racing line, they're most likely going to hit you.
