I was looking at a TV program about astronomy and some phenomenoms from the planet and outerspace, and they said that theres an asteroid called Toutatis that was discovered in 1989 by a french astronomer, and then NASA target it in 1990, well the point is, that it is 4 kms wide, and you know whats the best part, its going to pass 1000000 kms from planet earth on Spet 29 2004, 1 million kms in outerspace is very little distance, they said that governments from the biggest countries already know about the problem, but they dont want to cause panic, the other thing they said is that , US and Europe already working on an atomic weapon that can make the asteroid change direction, but if you dont believe me, heres what I found.... Just click play...........

I found the page in spanish, and transate it in English

Sorry fella. :D

Gotta move this to the rumple strip.

Although the title has gt4 in it, this thread actually has nothing to do with gt4.

Sorry again, and keep an eye out for it in the rumble strip.

Also, I'm gonna send you a pm to make sure you find out about the move. :D

Till next time, if I make it to a next time, (big astroid)

later. :D

Never said crap.

Never!

Only said it is an off-subject thread that would fit perfectly in the rumble strip.

Hope you will continue your conversation there. :D

well i think its only a matter of when something will try to hit us, luckly we have jupiter to pull every thing away from us

What if the space shuttles falls out of the sky and hits my lawn! Ahhh! Ahhhh!

Man I was going to agree with this thread in a way... then I read what it was really about. False advertising!

What I was going to say was that one of my good friends has that exact fear. He is in Iraq right now, and is a huge GT fan. I told him I would send him a copy as soon as I could. How would they play you ask? Well they were smart this time and dumped alot of the suggested stuff they should bring with them providing enough room to pack a PS2 and a 19" TV. How would it plug into the desert? Another good question worth answering... They also pack a 12V converter/amp thing. I don't know the name of the device but they can plug it into the HMV and plug their PS2 and TV to that. Leave the HMV running all night, and you got yourself a party. They plan to shoot all three devices upon leaving. They doubt everything will work long, with all the sand storms they have.

Back on topic... just shot it down with the sercert laser satelittes already up there.

Asteroid Toutatis, officially numbered 4179, was discovered by French astronomers in 1989. Researchers can't predict far enough into the future to rule out Toutatis ever slamming into Earth, so it is listed officially as a Potentially Hazardous Asteroid. NASA says it won't hit for at least the next six centuries.
AAAAAaaaaarrrggghhhh. We're all gonna die in 600 years. Gotta write that will.

The only threat I can see with an object passing within that kind of distance of earth is a possible change in the tides. It's like a fairly large comet; we get them all the time (ever hear of Halley's comet? (sp?)). The fact of the matter is that we won't die; and GT4 will be released before anything destroys the planet (although I'm not exactly sure)...
