though it looks kind of boring stock, it can be a great drifter and would look better with the right mods. Its competition would be the Eunos Cosmo. Mazda planned to use a rotary engine to power this car, but it didnt work well.

Specs
Drivetrain: FR
Weight: 3616 lbs/1640 kg
Engine: 3.0L 2954cc V6
Torque: 200 lb-ft/270 Nm
Horsepower: 206 @5750 rpm

...You do know that Mazda and Eunos is basically the same as VW and Audi, right?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eunos_(automobile)

No, it's not. Those are two entirely different brands together. :odd:

Taken from @Famine's Xedos suggestion:

Alongside the Autozam (compact & sports), Eunos (sports) and Efini (luxury sports) brands

Mazda introduced many sub brands into its one brand, and distributed them via different dealership networks. This was a common thing to do in Japan, as it nullified the chance of prospective buyers going to buy a sports car from the same place granddad bought his whip, while also situating car model ranges where they're more likely to be sold. Toyota did something similar with different dealership networks for specific classes, for example they even had one for the Corolla for the Corolla and all of its sub models (e.g. Corolla II).

...For the sake of clarification, are you saying VW & Audi, or Mazda & Eunos?

Because as far as I can see, they are/were operating under same principal, isn't it?

Ultimately, one experiment was successful and continues to be so, while the other - not so much.

VW and Audi.

VW and Audi are two entirely different brands that are linked via VAG ownership.

Eunos is a dealership network of Mazda.

...So then, you're saying Eunos isn't a sub-brand of Mazda?

I'm not sure if it's a culture thing, but then why name your products as "Eunos this" and "Eunos that" unless you want to promote that brand?

If not, why go all that trouble to establish a separate identity and models?

I know that Wikipedia isn't be-all and end-all, but even the link I provided clearly states that Eunos is a brand belonging to Mazda before it folded in 1996-ish.

No.

The Eunos (and Autozam, Amati, Efini) brand was a specifically-created sub-brand emergent from parent company Mazda. The nearest other direct comparisons are Lexus (from Toyota), Acura (from Honda) and Infiniti (from Nissan).

Volkswagen and Audi are their own brands, established in 1937 and 1932 respectively. They are now owned by the same parent company - Volkswagen Group - after being bought.

All are individual brands, but their origins are not the same.

I have stated it is a sub-brand of Mazda multiple times, distributed through a seperate dealership network of Mazda.

You are correct there.

What you are not correct in saying is that it's the same as the relationship of VW and Audi. Entirely two different comparisons, only able to be linked through ownership by VAG.

Edit:

And tree'd by Famine who said it better than me.

...Thanks for the reply. I get your point. Ah, on hindsight maybe I should've gone with a different comparative example. VW/Audi was a poor one to go with...

Still, I was sorta right in remembering Eunos/Autozam and Co. being Mazda sub brands, so a point for me. Yay. :O
