I was playing Arcade Mode in GT, and decided to use the "C"-class Miata at Deep Forest. (It's the Greatest Hits NTSC version, of course.)

It suddenly occured to me that the '98 shouldn't be in the game at all, since Gran Turismo arrived in 1997. The newest cars in the GT1 showrooms are '96s, right? How'd this one slip in? Is it supposed to be a "concept car", since the 2nd-gen Miata didn't appear in Japan/North America until 1998-99?

Maybe SportWagon knows the answer to this.

I have no inside line to Kazunori Yamauchi. ;)

I think the string "98" occurs in the relevant car name even in old versions of the game. I should double-check. Sometime. Sigh. GT4 is coming out next week, though.

I would guess (assume even) that Mazda knows what new models it is planning years in advance. (A substitute for :hand-waving-vigorously: )

Here's my Two cents on them, You have to excuse the Weight and HP on one of them, It's special! :D
