Alright after spending a serious amount of time and credits into tuning this car, i figured it would be nice if i saved some folks some time if they decide to race the 6. I did nearly all of my testing for this car on the Apricot Raceway, since from the get go i intended to compete in the professional Tuned Car race series. However be warned anyone who attempts this race with this car, its still really tough =]

teh setup

Exhaust - Racing
Racing Chip - Sports
Sports Soft tires (front and rear)
Nitrous (i have this equipped but i did not use it to set my times. I figured it could vary my times too much depending on where i used it and how much etc. and i wanted to see mostly how my suspension setup affected my laps. However it is needed to keep up in the Tuned Car series so i bought it)

Turbo - stage2
Intercooler - Racing
Brakes - Racing
Brake Controller - 15 front, 14 rear (i use the analogue sticks, this setting was
good for slamming the brakes without locking them up)

Suspension - Racing
Spring Rate - 16.2 front, 14.2 rear
Ride Height - 99 front and rear
Shock Bound - 7 front and rear
Shock Rebound - 10 front and rear
Camber - 2 front, 1 rear (default)
Toe Angle - neg1 front, neg4 rear
Stabilizers - 7 front and rear

Transmission - Full Custom
Auto Setting - 10 (this was a little long for Apricot, but i left some expandability
for nitrous and drafting. i would go for 9 possibly without nitrous)

Clutch - Triple
Flywheel - Racing
Carbon Driveshaft
ASM - off
TCS - 1
LimitedSlip - Standard
Weight Reduction - Stage 3
Port Polish - done
Engine Balancing - done

With this setup my best time around Apricot was 1'29.881 (no nitrous) with consistant times around 1'30. The suspension tuning shaved off around 2 whole seconds from the default race setup, and i think the Toe settings really helped with the understeer while accelerating through the turns, giving it a bit more steering response. I think droping the car as close to the ground as it would go had the most drastic effect on my times tho =]

The only thing left to upgrade is the stage 3 turbo and the rollcage, perhaps i'll get em and update my times later. Hope i helped someone out there!

Since the last post i added the rollcage option and a spoiler to adjust downforce, which helped my times a bit. However i didn't spend as much time tuning after that i just went for the gold in the Tuning Car Grand Prix. Needless to say it was difficult, but i managed to win =]

Getting the fastest lap in practice helped tremendously, since it gave me a bit of time to build the lead before the other guys tires heated up and started to crowd me around the twisties. A few notes on the car in retrospect: i love driving it, i found the best times were had when i dove deep into the turns trailbraking and carrying as much speed through as possible. It did understeer under power and high speed turns. Funny thing tho, the car has a mysterious drivetrain. You can't compete in any of the drivetrain races with it; fr, 4wd, ff, and mr all disallow it. However i think the tire wear and handeling characteristics belong mostly to a ff car, while it jumped off the line like a 4wd =]

i kept the settings pretty much the same for all the races with minor tweaks for each track. oh and here are some pics of the final race - enjoy!

like i said, the drivetrain is weird, the front tires heat up a good deal quicker than the rear; i didn't have any trouble with the rear slipping or spinning at all. so i figured i could bust out the camber in rear to help around the turns since that was where i was losing most of my time.
