I love it when companies go to war within each other. It leads to such great, over the top shenanigans for everyone else to lust after.

Autocar
Mercedes has confirmed that McLaren will build a special-edition ‘722 S’ version of the SLR roadster.
Deliveries will start in January, and only 150 versions will be built. Prices haven’t been confirmed, but it’s a fair bet that the 722 S will be sold at a substantial price premium to the standard £346,500 SLR Roadster.
See our full gallery of SLR 722 S pictures
Mercedes is also known to be working on a hardcore, ultra-low volume SLR Speedster as it prepares to bring its relationship with McLaren to a close.
Mercedes and McLaren are set to become road-car rivals as each launches the next generation of their ultra-fast offerings – we’ve already seen the gullwing-doored Mercedes SLC, and McLaren is known to be working on a new supercar.
The 722 S roadster gets reworked suspension compared to the basic SLR, with unique springs and dampers that lower ride height by 10mm. Power is provided by the SLR’s familiar supercharged 5.4-litre V8 in the same state of tune as the earlier 722 Coupe.

That means 650bhp and 605lb ft torque, with the roadster being good for a 3.7 second 0-62mph time and a claimed top speed of 208mph.

Linky.

Yeah! Take that SL65 AMG! Considering how ugly the SL-class is in general now, I have switched allegiances again.

Needs moar top speed.

Also, due to my questionable taste in automobiles, when it comes to looks I could go with either or.

Holy Light Bloom!

Not to shabby, the sub-4 second 0-60 is nice especially in a drop top, although I'm guessing the Viper is faster. Could be wrong though.

I still prefer the SL65. I like the SLR, but the new 65 AMG is just sex.

Does it come with someone to shine a torch directly at your face when looking at the car or something?

The SL65 AMG Black Series is the fast Merc for me with the fixed roof, similar performance, much cheaper (but still not exactly cheap), arguably nicer looking, if a fairly dated design by now. I just hope its in GT5, really, since that's the closest I'll ever get to driving one!

Oh, and any car that comes with a warning letter MUST be awesome.

Do we have pictures of one that aren't so photoshopped that it looks like they were drawn with colored pencils?
