McLaren Paint question (not a trade offer)

I heard that McLaren cars do not give paint chips and then I acquired a F1 from a ticket and did not get a chip with it. So my question is, are these paints out in circulation? Do people manage to get them in the daily gift or the gift every 30 cars? I don't want to post a thread asking for Historic Orange without knowing if it even exists or what its relative value might be. Thanks.

nah i have over 1300 paint chips and no Mclaren color yet, bought one the other day and got nothing, like ft 86 from toyota and audi color are tricky too.

If you buy an MP4-12C in historic orange you get the paint chip...
